There's also a Volt Green option for the Strix G18/G16. That option gives the strix G-Laptops the same rgb accents as the scar series, but it still retains the eclipse grey color on the chassis.

50:30 i tryed on my scar strix 18 this same benchmark and it was at 71.22 frames, same settings 1600p i make overclock maxed out with afterbourne and turbo mode on armoury crate 40.10 frames in raw no dlss, so, AI dlss and frame gen too with time it will improve, updates & deep learning

I can hear coil whine on silent mode when running the gpu but not in any other mode on my Scar 18.

Hola una consulta, por algo que me llamó la atención y pregunto por las dudas sabes que me compre esta maquina y al aumentar el poder gráfico me hace un poco de ruido exactamente coil whine en la bobina, luego lo tapa el ruido de los ventiladores, la consulta es si es normal es un poco molesto apenas se siente pero es coil whinen no se si esto empeora o si puede traer aparejado un problema al equipo, o es normal se que Tenes una gran experiencia por eso te pregunto, o la llevo a la garantia

I just ordered a scar 18, when upgrading the ram do i need to unhook the battery? I've seen some say yes some say no. Thanks for the deep dive and comparison. I've built a cpl desktops but have never owned a laptop before. Look forward to having fun with it.

It is better to disconnect the battery because you do not want to have an electric shock.

Do you think the absence of g-synk on msi is the norm? this is the only negative compared to the asus. is it tolerable?

I do not notice a difference in titles, unless it is sub 60 FPS performance. In those titles, I would turn on vsync or lower settings for more fps.

I got this laptop 2 days ago and When playing on Turbo Mode , there were stutters and almost everything was unplayable like games becomes so laggy and i don't know to fix it.

Hello! I also have exactly the same problem, in many games there are starters. Terribly annoying. FPS is good everywhere, but a lot of stuttering. Why in a laptop with such parameters and for this money, stability problems.

Ayo i have a serious question that’s really hunting me. Ive recently pre ordered the new Zephyrus M16 and i really wonder, does the liquid metal leak when holding at some angle while gaming? Pls let me know because if that laptop gets destroyed then it would be the biggest spending regret ever in my life so i really need to know because iam losing sleep ever since this question came up😂

For peace of mind, i usually buy an extended 2-3 year warranty from reputable store, like Best Buy. If liquid metal did leak, then it would be covered under manufacturer warranty for the first 1-2 years depending on company, and longer if you get an extended warranty. Leaks/or faulty components do happen, but very rarely from what i know if everything is working well out of the box.

laptop 4070 looks to be a bit of a disappointment from what info there is, I'd save some money on a 4060 or spend some more and get a 4080. But ofc wait for testing, I could be wrong.

CAREFUL - SCAR 16 would not find any SSD in my SCAR 16 when i tried to fresh install windows 11 via rufus USB loaded... BIOS was updated to latest... windows 11 was the latest download (a couple days ago).... BEWARE!!!

What would you recommend moving from i7 11700k and 3080 12g due to portability, The G18 4080 or scar 18 4090. Now taking price into consideration, I can spend max 2800$, If I would rather wait for like end of year for the 4090's laptop to get around that price, will they even come to that price? I don't think that this laptop has that price at the end of this year.. even last year old rtx 30 based laptops still over that price in a lot of webs, even there is not any 3090 laptop version.. If money is important, i would pick up the RTX 4080 wich is still a solid performance improve over 3080 laptop, and should perform equal to your 3080 desktop, but with the new tecnologies like DLSS 3 Frame Generation , at gaming, you can even pull almost twice fps in some games!

Surely this is manually overclockable, though? I imagine you could easily make the 5% up with some manual OC, probably more, even.

Yeah, it was tested with a small 50/100 OC to the GPU, which is standard in manual fan mode.

I’ll bet the Alienware M18 will be the performance champion once the 4090 versions hit the market. Alienware took the crown the last 2 years for Laptops, I suspect that trend will continue. The ROG offerings are dope, I’m just really disappointed with the connectivity and ports. No Mini DP and instead a MDP/USB3 combo? Bummer.
