I still have this laptop and I have upgraded the RAM to an 8GB ram & it works great. I'll upgrade the HDD to an SSD soon so that it can perform better but for now I am ok with the HDD for now.

I have the K-550L with an i7-4510u and GeForce 840M and 8 GB RAM. I upgraded to a WD Blue 1 TB SSD after the original HDD started having issues. My laptop is very similar to the one in the video. I've been having issues with RAM as of late and want to upgrade, but I'm not sure how much the mobo can take. I was thinking of upgrading to 12gb (replacing the removable 4gb stick for an 8gb). What would you propose?

Usually there is no max. The compatability issue is usually more with the speed.

I have this same laptop with 8gb ram installed, it says i have used 2 ram slots out of 4....., 2, of each slot holding 4gb ram. My question is, where can i find the remaining 2 slots that are still unused? Because I want my laptop to have 12gb ram.... So i need to know where to install the 3rd 4gb ram chip
