Seeing people train in the peek a boo style really gives me a deeper appreciation for the beast that is/ was Iron Mike Tyson. Mike was truly one of a kind and a true master of the style.
@TheMOTIV8Xperience3 жыл бұрын
True indeed! As Floyd is to the Shoulder Roll/Philly Shell.. - The dream style would be to merge the two together = untouchable! But what's unique about the peekaboo is that not only was it an old style even for when Tyson utilized it but the system enables you to be dangerous from wherever you are when on the inside on your opponent, in other words i didn't notice until recently that Mike actually fought ambidextrous and it was mainly due to this system... he was actually left handed. Cus' decided to put his strength upfront just like when orthodox boxers switch to Southpaw, so when you get a powerful/explosive kid like Mike Tyson who had bombs in each hand, it was the perfect "marriage"- which is why til this day, he remains the poster child/best illustration of the peek-aboo style....it was made for him. Jose Torres and Floyd Patterson were the other two Champions under Cus' D'Amato....go back and check out some of their vids...and then checkout Tyson's-- he definitely took the style to another level, I just hate that no other professionals since Tyson has adopted the style...- from time to time, you'll see guys used elements of it but never the full system-- we gotta keep this legendary style of boxing alive! lbs.

That don't quit between the bags is a famous poem Cus wrote and put it there on purpose and that stood out to get boxers to see that at their peripheral as they're hitting the bag

Great video! Would love to see more. Curious, when she springs to the side and hits to the body, is she pivoting on the front foot as she hits or the back foot? When I saw the Tom Patti videos with the Russian translator, he pivoted with the back foot and maintain weight on the front foot. Is this the case here? Is this a common practice in Cus's style? Does it vary? Thanks.

STYLE IS UNNECCESSARY U DONT NEED TO MOVE TWO TIMES AFTER U THROW A PUNCH. ITS A WASTING ENERGY. MAKING YOURSELF TIRED FOR NO REASON AND U WONDER WHY MIKE TYSON RARELY WON A FIGHT THAT WENT PAST 8 ROUNDS
@nigglywiggly7672 жыл бұрын
The only reason he barely wins any fights past 8 rounds is because the fights almost never even last 8 rounds
@Turtles007 Жыл бұрын
There is some argument to that but if u take the Ribalta fight, it wasn't bc Tyson ran out of energy... Ribalta just ate those punches (Tyson connecting pretty clean). His other fights that went past the 4th, I would say Mike got impatient and didn't listen to his corner half the time.. didn't break them down as well as he did Ribalta.

This new generation of unskilled and untrained worthless people are always luckiest to train at such legendary gyms.
@Turtles007 Жыл бұрын
Unskilled and untrained.. being trained at a gym, thats kind of the point lol. Worthless.. cmon, now thats pretty low. Luck is a funny thing in life.. some get it better than others but at the end of the day, its what you do with what u got or dont got bc like in the Alchemist, “When we love, we always strive to become better than we are. When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.”
