Unrelated ish but pat you have to slow on the alien talk. Acknowledging UFOs and saying there are aliens here are two completely different things. UFO is literally just an unidentified object. They can be of any kind of origin. The most likely (imo) is they are atmospheric illusions like you see with ships hovering on the horizon, or military testing, or a combination of things. The government isn't going to make up a fake story to cover any testing as any holes in the explanation would make more people question. So they just say they don't know. Simple. Like the loch ness monster... Being unable to identify what it was for decades didn't make it true that it was some creature. There was just no evidence based explanation. Same thing with the UFO stuff right now. That's why people don't care all that much. None of this verifies, or comes close to verifying, alien visitors. (don't read this like I'm being an ass, i know it is hard to not sound combative when commenting online ha). Also the phone in question during this podcast about you saying "lately" was about "its been a while" by Staind that you sing sometimes.

The Amico is going to be absolutely nothing. SO MUCH WORSE than the VCS, and that's saying something.

That game is everywhere including switch and mobile. Made by a single developer and a fun game.

How do you know how well it's selling? You don't. We don't have those numbers. Have they played it? Yeah, they have - it's a PC, just like those PCs in front of them in the video. There's nothing special about it.

It unnecessarily drains a crap load of money from your wallet whether you want it to or not, that's what the new Atari VCS does that the Evercade doesn't. LMAO.

How about runs new and coming Atari games, new indie games, multiple emulation, Chrome, web apps, Piepacker, 4k streaming services, Stadia, other game streaming, and can run Linux, Windows 10, (or 11), MacOS hacked, Android x86, etc., And can be expanded to 32gb ram, and with m.2 internal SSD. Other than that, not much.

@@justclaws4222 You're going to be doing all of that on a two year old *dual core* embedded apu with basic integrated graphics? I doubt it. The VCS can't do 4K, it can barely even even fake it. You mention windows 11 yet the chip (r1606g) is nowhere to be found on the compatibility lists form Microsoft and AMD. It's a glorified chromebook except you have to provide the screen, the keyboard, and the mouse yet still pay the same price.

@@Cowinspace i have one and do. Atariage has a thread all about windows 11 on VCS. You don't have to like it yourself but others do and are enjoying it. :-)

You can do ALL of what you just said on the VCS. It also emulates Wii U games like Mario Kart 8 and DKC Tropical Freeze once you upgrade the ram and SSD.

@@MrJeffreyBones It would be better if it did those things right out of the box especially at its current price point. I think a nvidia shield would be a better value proposition.

@@ChuckieV79 you dont need to upgrade the ram and ssd to play the jag and 2600 and 7800 games. You only need windows on a thumb drive with the emulators and roms. That IS out of the box as far as emulation goes. When I said upgrade I meant to emulate the Wii U. Also with the antstream app (which is FREE also "out of the box") you can play many of those 7800 games with added challenge modes that make it different vs just playing the old games. Kind of like NES remix. Theres way more going on with Atari VCS than what people are thinking

Antstream nowadays has many Arcade and US games across multiple computer and console systems. With 1700+ games it literally has something for everyone.

But I can find those almost any where. I had an Atari ST in the 80's and played mostly imported games from the UK, so the selection of Amiga titles is a welcome change from the USA/Japan focus of most other portals and collections.

Here in Miami the last one I saw was around 2006, ever since than that eb games has been a GameStop. I remember the last thing I bought from there as well, a copy of Spyro the new beginning for my ps2

@@jeff15 Yeah, we don't have GameStop anymore in Canada, they all became EB Games sometime in the early to mid 2010's. I think they're owned by the same parent company and all things consider they're 99.9% the same store with abundance of Funko Pop and all.

Trying to understand products and who they are for, if not you, is so olden days. In 2021 you are defined by the products you buy and must either love them to the death or hate them and want them destroyed. These guys are hacks, not because they don't like the VCS but because they can't be bothered to take 5 minutes to look into something before trashing it.

Actually I emulate Wii U on mine and it runs DKC Tropical Freeze and Mario Kart 8 at 50 FPS. Thats pretty sweet for something Pat and Ian keep comparing to a Flashback

They would have to sell the console at over $1000 because they can't afford to take a loss on the console like Sony does. That's the part they don't tell you everytime a PS5 or Xbox Series X/S is sold their company loses money. They make their money back from the sell of games.

Congrats on wasting $300 to play Atari...well, $400 since you need the controller one. I got the same (except with even more Atari games...and NES, Super NES, Arcade and more) on a Retropie for about $100 (with shipping and controllers). My $100 against your $400.

Dunno what you are looking for, but I bought a mini-PC for $200 to drive a video display. The VCS is at the bottom end of chipsets you can buy, so I would think it's similar...

It's not. The games that come with the Atari VCS pack-in Vault 1 are arcade and 2600 games. Vault 2 for $4.99 has more arcade, 2600 and 5200 games. And it comes with an Antstream client that lets you play that service for free (or $40/yr Premium) and it includes Atari arcade, 2600 and 8-bit computer games. The VCS + Vault 2 ($5) + Antstream (free with ads) gives you access to about 200+ Atari games and the classic joystick has a built in spinner that makes many of the games actually fun to play. But I realize this youtube video was to trash something not discuss facts, so I digress.

It's never gonna have real games. Who is gonna spend the time and money developing for a console with potential sakes of like 5,000? I mean, maybe things will ALSO run on it, but it's not getting its own games.
