For the item trick on the blast furnace, you could use a chute to prevent item de-spawning for large batches as it'll store the items until it can drop them. You'd need to do some testing of course.
@ICountFrom0

That's a good idea, the chute would need to be carefully placed, but a diagonal into it from the belt, and then the wind forces items up...

He’s stated in an earlier video that he often does retakes, on Scicraft it isn’t really that relevant because he doesn’t build the farms live, he can record looking at it for as long as he likes. In this series when he’s crafting an item, if he misspeaks or forgets why he wanted to talk about making it he just spawns in the items to make it again, if the thing he makes is a block like an anvil or, in a previous episode, a toolbox it creates some continuity weirdness. He actually kept a bunch of takes in the video at (21:22 ).

Still loving this series 😊 There's been a bit of talk about mistakes and people are very quick as well as correct to point out that Ilmango is only human as well as working by himself. Speaking from experience in real world blacksmithing video's, when creators started showing a few mistakes it took the community a while to settle down and realize that life just happens sometimes. Now really permanent blacksmiths are comfortable to show mistakes and the community has grown because of it...... not in a straight numbers growth but a personal growth. They have discovered that the people they look to for all the answers do make mistakes and its ok, which means that when their make mistakes its also ok. People feel free to come forward to ask for help because that's what their hero's are doing. Because of seeing this in the blacksmithing community I was surprised to see it here as well...... maybe a few years behing in this case, but the events are playing out just the same. The first thing I noticed is the megga high standards creators hold themselves to, but their fans also hold them to those standards. This puts a lot of prsssure on creators and even more pressure on new creators. We need to remember that these guy's are giving up a HUGE part of their lives to entertain, they don't have the same support that tv channels have, and they aren't given as much support from their fans as they deserve. I'm not talking about financially (although if you can help that way, the rest of us thank you), I'm talking about in the comments. It's bad enough when you make a mistake, but to have 1000 people bring you up on it?!?!? If that was you, at work, would you start looking for a new job? Just think about it. Rant over. 😂

if you use the crucible under the blast furnace, you will have to heat it up to melting point for pig iron to extract it with pipes. but you can use any fluid container under the blast furnace, including the create fluid tank, and then it also wont need to be heated to brilliant white, you can just extract it to a spout with an ingot mold or make sheets with superheated basin+press and turn the molten pig iron into ingots directly

a few common options for obsidian are to 1.learn the wireless redstone in create and do block detectors facing the drills from above that triger a one block retraction so it mines it. 2. make the quary always retract a block inbetween each layer 3. have the quary return to a pre cleared home before retraction 4. have a second layer of drills to mine the obsidian and a few others i forget

The solution to your obsidian problem in the quarry, believe it or not, is to have two layers of drills on top of each other on the contraption. They can't mine each other when part of the same contraption, so if obsidian forms on top of one drill, the drill above it will break still be able to break said obsidian so that the machine doesn't get stuck.

Something I don't think anyone has pointed out is that the mining machine isn't getting stuck due to obsidian being generated inside the machine, it's getting stuck because it doesn't mine some obsidian for some reason. Look at 19:32 and go frame by frame (using the , and . keys), and you'll see that some of the obsidian doesn't get broken, and the machine goes right through it anyways. It doesn't make sense that obsidian would generate inside the machine in any case. In order for that to happen, the machine has to go through a block of lava; this means that in the time it took to mine one layer, that lava (which is necessarily exposed to water) didn't get converted to obsidian. The water would take at most five ticks to flow downwards, and one more tick to convert the lava to obsidian. To have this lava turn to obsidian inside the machine, the machine would have to 1) Move down to the next layer after having broken the last one, 2) Break the current layer (the one with the lava), and 3) Move to the next layer, all within six ticks! Now I don't know about anybody else's perception, but it looks to me like Tango's machine doesn't mine that fast.

i do like how when you make a contraption in create it always looks like is a bit messy even if you do it perfectly, gives it a machinery funcitioning as machinery look with all those moving part all around the place. specially true when used in tfc since its supposed to be hard to make things like that. i for example have a machine at Y-50 or so that is using the lava from a lava lake and water from the surface to generate ryolithe, which i them further process into gold, copper and iron. since i have to transport the water from the surface, and have said water meet with the lava, but also power the waterwheels and also be used in the fan to clean the ryolithe, plus the drils, plus the crafters and the millstone, plus the supports so that there is not a cave in it does look like a messy chaos of cogwheels and belts rotating in all directions, but i couldnt be more happy of being able to make it work

In the case of the machine getting stuck due to generated obsidian above, couldn't you move the entire drill contraption with the rope pulley along the gantry shaft into a position, where there is no more obsidian above (the very start for example)? Or would this still fail because the rope is in obsidian and thus can't be moved at all?
@jexania

Now that you mention it, probably? Might want to have it place at the bottom though. Should be able to slide it into the previous empty place if theres no obsidian in the way of that motion.
