I was about to say, the clockwork bearing would be ideal for the curdled milk. Sealing the barrel at 12:00 and opening it at 9:00 could work, but there would be a lot of down time. I think a clockwork bearing that let you customize its timing would be a good addition to the create mod.

For the cheese making process, you could use the clock mechanism you showed to add the vinegar to the milk at 6pm (giving you either 10 or 542 ticks to seal the barrels before the player would be able to go to sleep per the minecraft wiki) and then you would be able to wait for the clock to read 6am (time where the player wakes up) before removing the curdled milk from the barrel and moving it to storage. This would also allow enough time to do another batch between 6am and 6pm (presumably collecting the curdled milk at 3pm) where you won't have to worry about the player sleeping, giving decent uptime on the production line.

Episode 45 struggles so that Episode 46 can shine. Can't wait for the cheese making machine!

Check out attribute filter, to avoid the issue of assigning filters with items we don't have. Also, you can drag from JEI to filter, you don't need to have the item in inventory.

if you use a cuckoo clock I believe you can set redstone signals at certain times of the day. So if you figure out at what time you must seal the barrel for the milk to curdle at the time when a player wakes up, you can just only curdle milk at that time, and then sleeping would just speed the process up without risking making cheese prematurely.

have you tested if food spoils in create minecart contraptions? keep with you a never spoiling pantry.

It may be possible to store the curdled milk liquid inside a create mod fluid tank so that you can pump it straight into barrels making the aging process much simpler.

If with that clock you only make one batch of curdled milk per in-game day, sleeping won't be able to break it. For example if it starts when the players wake up, then finishes by the end of the day and gets collected and a new batch doesn't start up until the next morning. I guess the only thing that could break it is unloading it as afaik don't items in this mod experience time even when you're not around however maybe you can check at the end if the barrels have liquid or items inside and if it's items to like have a light on top of the barn light up to let you know that you have cheese that you should consume before it goes bad

23:02 I wonder if an sculk sensor could detect that. Not that you can use it in terrafirmacraft, but maybe an alternative can exist in the future, using crystals and what-not. Could be a good idea, either for a Create add-on, a TFC feature, or maybe just another mod. Could also be solved with a simple custom recipe in a datapack and some retexturing on the sculk sensor.

hmmm so it seems like for the cheese production line, you would need some way of timing machinery with the game-world time, rather than regular game runtime. I wonder if you could somehow use the cuckoo clock for that. and if not, that would be a really cool bit of functionality for the modpack maker to add

if you put a bearing on a moving contraption (another bearing) stuff attached to that bearing should be stabilized. maybe you could use this to detect more states of the clockwork bearing

I've actually used the clock with redstone contact method myself, the trick is to have the redstone contact facing inward (opposite the direction the clockwork bearing is facing) on the clock hand rather than outward.

Im posting this before watch the full video but it might be interesting to add the create mod chunk loader mod.

You can get a signal 4 times a day from the hour hand in 24 hour mode. 8 times a day in 12 hour mode. Or 4 times an hour from the minute hand. Combined with, perhaps, a sequencer of some sort for additional setup? You wouldn't need more then a barrel of cheese per day, right? What other easy setups are there off of it? Twice a day both hour and minute will be up (and gate) at the top in 12 hour mode, or once a day in 24 hour mode. Any others?

I guess this is a really big Curdle to get over, hope you can figure it out easily :) 🐖

Would cheese making factory still work when chunk unloaded? Cheese will still be produced because it's based on world time, but any components won't because they work only in loaded chunks.

Can you take a red stone signal from the coocoo clock? I was thinking you could take the signal, somehow store the signal strength as a time, then compare the signal output and the stored signal with a mathematically 16hour ahead signal, and if the signal measured is higher than 16 hours later signal, open the barrel. The only issue could be avoiding a run over where the signal weakens at say 00:00 from a maximum at 23:59, but maybe an “activated” line could be taken to alter the measured signal adding something to make an artificial 25:00 or higher, ex. a 01111 to 10000 instead of 1111 to 0000. Then the signal simply needs to be wiped afterwards for the next run. Just a thought.
