I, for one, happen to love this format. Fun, mellow, casual, friendly. I dunno, it just speaks to me. Two friends, lifting, hanging out, just enjoying. It’s such a good vibe and a nice break from the generally intense high energy presentation of lifting, fitness, and sport.

topic ideas for next ep: - what disciplines/movements from weightlifting should the average gym goer (that trains bodybuilding-ish style) incorporate into their routine? and how should they start? - biggest spine health misconceptions - how do you approach the topic of telling a loved one that you think they should start caring about their health a bit more (diet or basic physical exercise) especially if they suffer and complain from something (bein obese or too weak) but think physical exercise or all that health stuff is "not for them"?

19:30 concerning the chatgpt comment, I just went on there and asked “write me an Olympic weightlifting training plan” and the result is pretty impressive: Here is a sample Olympic weightlifting training program: Monday: Warm-up: 10-15 minutes of light cardio (e.g. jogging in place, jumping jacks) Snatch: 3 sets of 3 reps Snatch pull: 3 sets of 3 reps Overhead squat: 3 sets of 3 reps Cool-down: 5-10 minutes of stretching Tuesday: Warm-up: 10-15 minutes of light cardio (e.g. jogging in place, jumping jacks) Clean and Jerk: 3 sets of 3 reps Clean pull: 3 sets of 3 reps Jerk dip squat: 3 sets of 3 reps Cool-down: 5-10 minutes of stretching Wednesday: Rest day Thursday: Warm-up: 10-15 minutes of light cardio (e.g. jogging in place, jumping jacks) Snatch: 3 sets of 2 reps Snatch pull: 3 sets of 2 reps Overhead squat: 3 sets of 2 reps Cool-down: 5-10 minutes of stretching Friday: Warm-up: 10-15 minutes of light cardio (e.g. jogging in place, jumping jacks) Clean and Jerk: 3 sets of 2 reps Clean pull: 3 sets of 2 reps Jerk dip squat: 3 sets of 2 reps Cool-down: 5-10 minutes of stretching Saturday: Rest day Sunday: Warm-up: 10-15 minutes of light cardio (e.g. jogging in place, jumping jacks) Snatch: 1 set of 1 rep Clean and Jerk: 1 set of 1 rep Cool-down: 5-10 minutes of stretching It's important to note that this is a general template and it's important to start with light weight and focus on proper form before adding weight. Also, consult with a coach or trainer before starting any Olympic weightlifting program. It's also important to note that Olympic weightlifting is a highly technical sport, so proper coaching and training is crucial for injury prevention and optimal performance.

Love the video, I think you all are missing out on bringing gymnastics movements into the equation. Take a ring muscle up for example, you have a pull and a dip in a single movement, you have hip extension, targets core, and is a high force production movement, you develop lots of speed and power. Also very technical so you are training your coordination as well.

As someone who often finds themselves carrying a lot of items while waiting for or taking the bus, curls have been an immense boon. Being able to hold a static position (like carrying a toddler) while walking for a mile or more is huge. If you’re on an island chances are you’ll have to walk and carry things a lot
@JinnDante

Carrying items does not include bicep strength though. Carrying bags or doing farmers walks would be more beneficial.

I see an important trend - I've been trying to improve my bench press but it won't go anywhere so I've been doing dumbbell bench (and pushups to warm up). Overhead press, deadlift, Bulgarian split squat, seal rows, weighted pull ups and occasional front squat - all those are okay. But I'm definitely missing dips which are in the top 5 for you guys - maybe I should switch over to doing those and not worry about a horizontal press. Great video! 👍

I think Greg Nuckols also went with a thruster or push press to hit the overhead pressing and some leg/hip drive involved for one of his hypothetical minimalist programs, mentioning how one can tune the strength/power curve of the movement by how much you push with the legs versus overhead pressing

Straight leg rope climbs (weighted) Heavy tire flips (or maybe kettlebell swings?) Hanging leg raises (ankle weights) L sit dips Briefcase lunges Incline KB press (one arm at a time) Single leg deadlifts
