What's up guys! In this Video I review and compare two awesome adjustable dumbbells, the BowFlex Selecttech 552 and the AtivaFit Deluxe 71.5lb adjustable dumbbell. The Bowflex 552 is the most well knows adjustable dumbbell on the market. The Ativafit Deluxe adjustable dumbbell is more new to the market, with a similar design to the Bowflex yet quicker to change the weight, heavier, not as bulky and cheaper. They are both rated over 4.5 stars on amazon with many reviews. For people who don't lift as much weight and like 2.5lb increments the Bowflex is a great choice. If you want an adjustable dumbbell the goes heavier the Ativafit is a no-brainer. Both are great set of dumbbells though.
In this Video I also mention the Core Home Fitness Adjustable dumbbells which I currently use in conjunction to real dumbbells for heavier weight. If you are considering the Bowflex over the Ativafit I recommend doing some research on it, I have a video comparing it to the Bowflex 552. If you're looking for even more weight then the Ativafit 71.5 I also recommend checking out the Merax Deluxe 88lb adjustable dumbbell on Amazon. It's very new so not alot of reviews yet, but I think that may take the cake over the Bowflex SelectTech 1090.

Bought the Ativafit because of this video. I also bought the Powertec workbench to add to it. With the way things are going, I don’t see myself ever going back to the gym. It’s been a slow process since EVERYTHING is on back order but I’m getting there 👍🏼

Good review. I finally got a pair of Core adjustable dumbbells last month. I got lucky after some serious cyberstalking... they had some available the day after one of their lotteries which I did not win. Definitely worth it, just wish they had an offering that goes up to 75lb. Like you, I’ll probably pick up a pair or two of heavier fixed weights and call it a day.

Nice bro!! The Core Fitness are one of the best you can get no question. Yeah if you can get some real dumbbells for the heavier lifts or a heavier set of adjustable dumbbells like iron master or something you’re set.

Bro thank you for putting this together. I never heard of the AtivaFit and the gold standard seems to be the Blowflex. AtivaFit by the numbers seems the obvious pick but is not like there is lots of hype or in the stores to do a one for one comparison. I am not sold on just brand just to have a logo in the house. BlowFlex is ridiculous price because of the brand confidence. I like those CORE unti I saw they were over $600... AtivaFit are $309 at Walmart... with those other $300 I can buy a squad cage or a deadlift hexbar... when you are trying to get the most for a home gym that is not the most bank for your money.

Hey bro, the Ativafit price you’re seeing on Walmart is for only 1 dumbbell. So it’s actually 618 for 2 right now. Core say $579 on amazon but the core home fitness website says they have them in stock again for $349 for the pair

I have had the Bowflex 552 dumbbells for 9 years of intense use and they are awesome. I just got the Altivafit a week ago and love the build quality and that it came in lbs and not kgs. They are different in weight selections which is nice and heavier Max weight. Certain selections can be a little tricky to put back in just have to carefully put back in as the plates shift a bit in cradle. Overall would recommend the Altivia Fit and got a extra discount and a over awesome deal for a pair.

Biggest advantage of the Bowflex set is the 2.5 pound increments vs. 5.512 pound increments for the Ativafit set. This makes it a better option for beginners and especially women. I personally think Ativafit is the superior choice for most men, I like the higher weight capacity.

The ativafit is a good range for men. 71 pounds is more than enough for most movements except for maybe a flat bench and rows which you could max out in about a year or less of working out. But I have a barbell so I don’t worry about that. I still use my ativafit every single workout for almost two years and they still work like I got them. I also recommend that you get the stand, makes it a million times better than deadlifting 70 pounds all the time.

Do your have an opinion on the nordictrack 55 lb vs the activafit 71lb? I want the extra weight but those nordictrackk 55lb seem very well built. I use the core home fitness weights,and love them but have to do more reps because of the weight going only up to 50lb

@@powerbar8991 Yeah 600 dollars for the pair. Also if you want to pay a portion at a time, if approved sezzle will take 4 installment payments every 2 weeks until the 600 is paid. That's what I did.

I wonder if there are adjustable dumbbells that start at 55lbs and go up. I have the Bowflex 552s Series 1. For heavier weights, I have spin-locks where I have to change plates all the time.

They don't to my knowledge. Getting real dumbbells in conjunction with your 552's for heavier lifts would be ideal but if you don't have to room something like what you have or maybe powerblock would be best. Not a fan of some because of safety issues above head and face.

You probably could with the Ativafit, but I wouldn't recommend it because it's not really intended for that purpose. There is a ton of metal involved though so it's possible

I have not see or experienced that. It's probably some greases or something they are seeing. For the price you can't beat what you get with the core.

Question. I see that people are saying the Ativafit is less than the Bowflex but you only get 1 dumbbell with the Ativafit opposed to the pair for the Bowflex.

SelectTechs are actually a lot cheaper for the pair if you order direct from BowFlex. The only catch is that it's a four month wait!

Yeah prices have been all over the place since the pandemic. Four month possible wait is crazy, you could be super buff and in shape with the Ativafit by then lol. AtivaFit price will slowly come down overtime also. Being able to get something quick is going to result in higher prices because of demand right now.

The ATIVAFIT fit are the best bang for your buck at that weight. The core home fitness don’t go as heavy but are super quick and easy for changing weight between sets and are priced very well compared to competition. If you need an adjustable dumbbell that will last forever and you can drop it get Ironmaster. They aren’t very fun to change weight between sets, but you can go super heavy and won’t break

I’m currently building a gym at home, since I refuse to wear a mask working out in public. I feel like getting gym rubber mats would be a smart investment when setting these down. I bought the Ativafit dumbbells. It took me a couple days to realize that the numbers on the dumbbells are KILOGRAMS and not POUNDS! I was thinking to myself "wow 32.5 lbs is kind of HEAVY LOL! Overall great product tho, especially for the price. I already have an adjustable bench, so I bought TWO of these so I can do chest presses and other workouts.

I'm just getting back into lifting again after two years of not working out at all (was way too busy with work and just blew it off, but I just got laid off due to Covid-19 so I have a lot of free time again), so I'm just taking it easy right now, but once I really get back into the groove of things, I'm going to use the chart, and also prepare my workouts in advance in a journal.

I used to work directly with UPS drivers at my previous to last job (I did shipping logistics) and those guys would come into the store I worked at and tell me everything, especially about how crazy the job is and the hours you're expected to work. It's intense! Oh by the way I just subbed to your channel. I had seen one of your videos (that I really like) before, maybe a month or so ago, but I forgot to subscribe then, but I'm subscribed now. Hopefully between everything going on, you'll still be able to crank out some videos! I'm 34. I used to be a gym rat in my twenties (especially early 20s), and I used to be really fit. I started to kind of let myself go the last two years, eating like crap, drinking, not working out, etc. But not anymore as of last week. I'm going to do this! I'm going to even look better than I did when I was 23. It's never too late! Keep on grinding man! Life is just one big grind!

Mine are fine, but I don't use them much since I have real dumbbells. They are rated 4.5 stars and up so that shows most people are enjoying them. Basically any adjustable dumbbell you look up will have some negative reviews where they broke or had some shipping issue.

Received my Ativafit elite 71.5lb dumbbells today, but the weight adjustment is different on mine. The lowest number it starts out with is .11 and it seems to look like it actually goes by pounds instead of kg. Other than that everything else is the same as yours in the video. Weird.

It was 599 for a pair of ativafit when I made video and bowflex 552 was like 700. Bowflex website has been out of stock since March so good to see they have some in stock for regular price. I’m sure they will be gone super quick

Definitely possible with any adjustable dumbbell, but with the way the weight plates hook around the handle they shouldn’t be able to drop of your face or head if held up correctly.

just the fact the other one is 71 lbs already makes it more worth it. 52 lbs is nothing, its only good for arms and shoulders.

@@roxanne1987r even if you are a beginner, you still will prefer the 71 lbs deal, because you have the low weight in both of them, but you also have like 20 more lbs for progress. and trust me, your average guy, which is the majority of clients that buy weights, will htit hat 52 lbs limit very fast. 52 lbs is not heavy at all for things like chest, or if you want to do squats with the weights, i mean some people who didnt train, just natural strength can already hti that weight.

Hey bro, not exactly sure what you’re trying to say but the Ativafit are a great option in my opinion. Not sure if some of the reviews you were seeing were older ones or what. They don’t come looking pristine, but there’s so much metal involved in them they some scuffs shouldn’t matter.

There will always be some one star reviews on basically anything you order from people who got a bad batch, damaged during shipping or don’t use the product correctly and something breaks. It’s rated 4.5 stars which means most people are giving it 5 stars. There’s no perfect adjustable dumbbell out there right now but the Ativafit one of the top right now in my opinion.

I ordered the ATIVA and the plates were really shaky. I do not recommend it.

@@MattTolbers I’m pretty sure they were defective cuz every bicep curl the plates kept on moving back and forth it got rly annoying, but I don’t see that occurs in your video.

If you want to drop your weights don’t get adjustable dumbbells, they’re not meant to drop. Get real dumbbells for that
