January 27th & February 2nd-3rd 2019:
And so it was written that in 2019 my city will host the fifty-third Super Bowl. By all accounts, the "big game" was a big bore while the halftime show was an abortion. Spectators would've been wise to watch the skies instead of the gridiron, as it was as action packed as ever. To me Super Bowl LIII was the most exciting event to come to town since "Snowpocalypse" in 2014. I don't give a damn about the NFL, which is probably why it was so awesome. To those who care, it was a big boring let down. Poor folks. Glad I've got MY priorities straight! Now sit back, relax & watch my Super Bowl in the Sky!

It was really cool watching flight radar 247 super bowl sunday after the game... biz jets galore ... departing ATL PDK and all the other regional airports around Atlanta!

If you want to know what the impact a Superbowl has on a city.Check out the GA ramp at the airport the Sat. before and the Sat. of the game.You will be shocked at how many private jets but lso how many are the heavy iron type parked on the ramp.Then there's all the heavy airliners for charter parked all over the place.

Hey Daniel, yeah it's unfortunate isn't it? Turns out the F16s that were flying CAP were based in South Carolina so I had no chance of seeing them out there either

Yeah man! It's just a shame the B17, P8 & AF2 didn't take to the skies. 2 P8s out there (or in the hangars) that have been there since spring/summer.

hey matt! there were also f-16s patrolling the airspace above the superbowl. KC-10(believe the callsign was "NATN03") was providing refuelling support

Yup! Nation03 it was! That was probably the biggest shocker I've had in a while. My immediate reaction was as if I was seeing a UFO - freaking out, shaking camera, etc. Definitely the coolest thing I've EVER seen in the airspace above my city

Oh ABSOLUTELY! They've made a lot of progress on the 330 neo as a matter of fact. Might even see it as early as the spring. I thinks it's getting the cabin pimped out right now

I dunno. Probably not this coming weekend. I burned myself out last weekend. The only days I can guarantee to be out there is if it snows (fingers crossed) or severe storms threaten. Also if anything Antonov shows up. AN-12 came last Weds, I was stuck at work

Your welcome, in June YVR will expect some new airlines and aircraft's like Lufthansa will bring thier A340-600 instead of the 350 and WOW air will begin service as well (if they don't go bankrupt) & JAL will bring thier 767. Cheers!!!

Those new A220s are terrible from a fueler's viewpoint. Everyone on T gates hates doing them.

@@mlcochran78 As far as I'm aware we can only fuel in automatic, and this means it fuels incredibly slowly. Fuel panel is on the side of plane with a box similar to a Bombardier RJ, and aircraft doesn't have actual fuel gauges - just a percentage bar. Basically, an Airbus A321 taking 40,000 lbs of fuel going to San Diego would be finished faster than an A220 going to Dallas.

Thanks a lot Mike! Yeah I'm ambivalent when it comes to NFL (I let UGA annually break my heart). I remember back in the 80s & 90s team jets like the Patriots were more common. I recall seeing the Texas Rangers 727 as late as 2002. So "Underdog" is like a list art form. I loved it! The Rams didn't arrive til 830-900, well after dark. Plus twas a work night. Thanks again!

Yeah I have image stabilization. And a tripod although I didn't use it here. The sad fact is my dialogue induces instability & there's not much I can do to fix that. Especially when I get surprised and/or excited, image stabilization is out the window. Fortunately/unfortunately I won't sacrifice having fun in favor of good camera work in silence

Let me tell you the set list of the best concert I ever saw. Matt Cochran and the Tri-holers. Opened the show with Foghole. 2. Delta Belly 3. Cinco Slam 4. Wall of Doom 5. I am Human Tripod 6. Skyteam to the Rescue 7. The Ballad of Sir-France-a-Lot Encore was Tri-hole If you ever get a chance to catch their show don't pass on it.

The aircraft dropped off passengers in Atlanta and then left for Huntsville to park. It returned to Atlanta Monday morning to pick up the passengers.

HA! Ya know 2 yrs ago I would've been the first guy to suggest chunking Molotov cocktails at it. But disengagement from NFL (Falcons) allows a different perspective - back in the 80s & 90s it was common for pro sports team to have their own logo jets. Off the top of my head I recall a TX Rangers 727 & a CLT Hornets 727. Today no such thing exists - except fer the cheaters plane
