I just managed to get the ballistic calc set up on my air rifle and it works brilliently. Zero at 27 yards using the smart rectical it is spot on from 6 yards to 70 yards using a sub 12flb rifle, I put all the required data in and it works spot on. What a scope the 4k pro is.

@@MrAde395 G1 but the BC was most important, I used the chrony at the muzzle then at my zero rang of 27 yards, I set the scope to imperial as it seemed to prefer that, Si pittaway has an interesting vid on BC as the BC is unique to each gun. And setting the zero at 27 yards was important, Watch this kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h62FrbSJl7vHoYE.html It flattens out the curve when shooting between 5 and 50 yards. Also the scope height is important, I used a Vernier to find the center of my scope to the centre of the barrel You need to use the smart rectical, and when you input the distance into the scope the teal dot will set it's self for your point of aim. This will require a good knowledge of distance estimation, I used a range finder to get the distance then input that into the scope each time, it wasn't to hard as the distance entry was 1 click when you enter the settings screen. I have now purchase the abl 1000 range finder and that is a game changer, Once configured you just aim at the target and press a button on the scope and the crosshair jumps to the point of aim without having to input any distances into the scope. The abl is awesome. Also remember that with air rifles sub 12 ft-lb each weight of pellet will have a different BC, So find the best pellet (if your using an air rifle sub12) for your rifle and stick with it. G1 is best suited for flat faced bullets or pellets which most pellets are. Check this page out. bulletin.accurateshooter.com/2013/01/g1-vs-g7-ballistic-coefficients-what-you-need-to-know/

@@PeakyBlinder yeah I'm using an abl as well, so quick and easy to use. I never put chrony at target end only on muzzle end zeroed at 40 yards not 27. Yeah I'm using a ratworks tuned BSA ultra se .22. Noticed it's a pulsar thermal your using, I'm using the pulsar XM30S and gotta say its a game changer. Gonna watch the links you sent now. Thanks for your help, good videos by the way.

@@MrAde395 no worrys, But I would definatly change your zero to 27 yards, Watch the link from si pittaway, I used to zero at 40 but the curve is way out. And to get the correct BC you would need two chrony readings at muzzle and at zero, You then go on line and use a coefficient calculator or chair gun pro to give you your correct coefficient. This is a must for the atn bc to work correctly. Enjoy the links. Ps: check out my vids using the thermion, The rats can't hade no more, I'm using a calibragun cricket 177 , And also I can use the scope profiles to swap the scope between the calibragun and my s510 tdr in .22

Ok Ill try to explain my problem, Ive zero'd at 25 yards, no problem, im shooting an FX bobcat air rifle set up for close in shooting rats at night. Ive entered the ballistic data for my pellet and gun with no problems. But when I try to enter a distance of 10 yards, the distance data box in my viewfinder reads infinity and I can't enter 10 yards. In your video, at 6:24 minutes, your distance data box starts at 19 yards. Help please.

Hello. how do you determine scope height and should i zero at 50 yards first and then 100. most of my shots will be from 50 to 150 yards at animals and dont know if this will make a difference in impact point.
@adamsquibbles4 жыл бұрын
Hey Big Cuz. Really important question to ensure our ballistics software gives us the most precise output. However, super simple: measure the diameter of the barrel just ahead of the scope bell with a set of calipers, and divide by 2. Now measure the outside diameter of the scope bell and divide by 2. Now measure the gap between the scope bell and barrel, and add it to the previous two numbers. The sum of these 3 distances is the height of the sight line above the bore line.

@holladaysfantasy3 жыл бұрын
Enter 2850. If you have a chronograph, get the velocity average from your rifle and use that data, instead of what is on the box. Most ammo manufacturers, test with longer barrels than what the average consumer is using.

What if you don't know the ballistic co-efficiency? Will the auto sighting still work? And how can you find the ballistic co-efficience for your ammunition?
@bophoto4 жыл бұрын
Hey Two ol guys. you basically need to get a chronometer to measure your rounds speed at 1 yard and at 50 yards (or 100 even better) this give you the change in speed and with that you get the BC (how much energy the slug preserves)

I have this set up ,,with ABL 1000 linked. Shouldnt the distance change ,upper left as you put the crosshairs on a new target? Or do you need to hit the range button for each target?
@gierhedd7521 күн бұрын
I typically re-range whenever I place the cross hairstyle on a new target. For example I had 2 yotes come in almost next to each other in an open field while deer hunting. I ranged the first, but re-ranged the second one that was a few yards behind the first one, just to get a better idea of the actual distance. Btw, I absolutely LOVE the ballistic adjustment feature on these scopes. I'm currently running the x-sight on a crossbow, and it is dead dog nuts accurate.

You need to have the BC off when you zero the scope. After that if all of the profile information is correct, you turn on the BC and after ranging the target with the ABL your POI will change automatically.

So, basically, after the BC correction of the right POI base on the data of the profile that’s been previously zeroed, all I have to do is point the crosshair to the center of the target? Is this also the same to 300 yards, 500 yards ? Creating a profiles for those range won’t be necessary?

Then sight it in at 20 or 30 yards, whatever your preference. Once sighted in, go out to 50-60 yards, input that into the ATN sight so it adjusts the reticle.
