aTrippyFarmer and the crew are back to bring you more farming adventures! In this episode, Andy and his family are still fighting with their older John Deere S670 combine and it’s pesky yield monitor. They’ve even called in the big guns-A John Deere technician. Although yield monitors aren’t the most important thing in the world, accurate yield data can be very useful for decision making. Andy gives an update on a new tile project going on at their swamp farm. After getting started for the day, Andy installs a new weigh system in their JM 1222 Grain cart to expedite record keeping. This Libra Cart system makes the grain cart operator’s life so much easier. The crew pushes on for another strong day of harvesting! Thanks for watching!

Andy "aTrippyFarmer" Dole is a 6th generation farmer from Central Illinois. On this farm, Andy works alongside his father, Marty, his uncles, Chris and Jeff, and his sister, Katie, to grow corn and soybeans on some of the finest dirt in the world. Andy and his family are deeply rooted in the area, operating a large farm that traces it origins back into the 1800s. Although some tracts did not stand the test of time, Andy and his family still grow corn and soybeans on fields that have been in the family for longer than even the oldest members of the farm have been alive. We do, we have, and we always will take tremendous pride in calling this piece of paradise our home. Andy was a Bronze Tablet graduate of the University of Illinois in the field of Crop Sciences, following the same path as his father and late grandfather.
It would be misleading for Andy to claim that this life is one that came by chance; rather, as a member of two multi-generational farm families, it was simply in his blood. His passion for agriculture traces back to his early youth--some of his fondest, earliest memories being of days spent riding in the combine with his father and grandfather. Although his understanding of the lifestyle was much less complex in the beginning, the love he has for farming, and its industry has only appreciated through time. As this dream blossomed into adulthood, Andy now works relentlessly, and tirelessly, to chase his own dreams and to build a farming operation of his own alongside his family.
We, as a whole operation, are handymen, electricians, mechanics, landscapers, accountants, economists, caretakers, stewards, and, most importantly, farmers, and we take an incredible amount of pride in our work. There is no challenge too overwhelming, no situation too stressful, and no problem too difficult for us to take on, and we want to take you along with us. Welcome to our farm and welcome to our lives. You have the best seat in the house to watch the everyday chaos of farming unfold--we usually only get concerned when things aren't going wrong!

Back in the early 90s I ran a grain cart for a bigger farmer in our area 5000 acres in a bunch of small fields in Delaware.. I had to keep up with 3 ,9600s and one 9500 with a 4955 with power shift.. not sure how much the grain cart held but I do remember that it wouldn't load a TT with one dump... Talk about being busy I really didn't have time to take a piss and those damn scooter ditches... worked 116 hrs one week.. I hardly ever had a combine get full on me.. fun times

Hope you can keep your children interested in being with you or just interested in farming period. I used to have my boys in the tractor for 10 to 12 hours at a time but as the have become teenagers they don’t see dad’s job as exciting anymore. Keep up the great content. Love your channel.

That was another great captivating video. I especially enjoyed the drone footage, that was aweseome. Just one thing: sometimes you edited a lot of very short segments of 1 or 2 seconds together, that made it feel a bit jumpy somtimes. But that's whining on a high level ;-) Keep it going! And all the best for harvest.

Ohhh Andy, you scare me on the title. I was thinking parts and pieces scattered over 1/2 a section. Glad that was not the case. I tell ya what, when I was helping my Uncle on the farm (50 years ago) we had to wait for the elevator to tell totals. Now you tell the elevator what you got. Amazing.

You know, one of these days, your son will ask, “Dad, why do they call them combines when they actually take everything apart?” You’ll be like, “What?” And then he will ask, “Yeah, they should be called separators, they don’t actually combine anything…”. Just getting you ready for the questions… they will come and you have to be ready for them. Lol. 👍🇺🇸
