Join me at a real arranged marriage in an Indian village in rural Rajasthan. Experience the Hindu wedding food, ceremony, rituals, party, and the bride leaving to her husband's house (Vidai ceremony). I'll tell you my thoughts on why arranged marriage isn't as bad as foreigners think it is too!
2:30 Village wedding lunch food tour.
4:15 Wedding Pani Puri (Gol Gappa) and food preparation.
7:10 Hindu wedding rituals begin.
8:52 My opinion on arranged marriage.
11:25 Village wedding dinner food tour.
14:02 The groom and his wedding party arrive.
16:39 The bride is leaving to her husband's house.
I start with a tour of the bride's village house. Then I get interested in the wedding food which is cooking out the back of her home. The entire village has been invited to come and eat lunch to celebrate the wedding. I show you how Pani Puris (Gol Gappa) are made too.
After I eat that yummy Indian wedding lunch, I give my opinion and reaction to arranged marriages in India and love marriages in the West.
Then we discover the dinner food, and it's a massive feast for an Indian village. They have an enormous selection of Indian street food, curry, and Indian sweets all set up in the village town square. It's Indian foodie heaven! My favourite dishes are the Chilla and Aloo Tikki.
Then, after dinner and dancing, the Groom arrives to take his bride. It's time to say goodbye to the bride as she leaves in her husband's car and goes to his house.
This Shaadi (wedding) took place in a real Indian village on the border of Haryana and Rajasthan in India.

Why they bring bride back many of them never tell the answer for that. My father even didn't told me when I ask the same question.
@KarlRock
@KarlRock 5 жыл бұрын
@@omfuke3083 Deepak Chauhan explained it in the comments "At 18:30 you are asking why she comes back... There are few rituals made to make the bride comfortable... Because this is a arrange marriage the woman feels lonely as she doesn't know anyone in the new family... So the bride is taken back to her house and taken back again and the same is done after a few days and after a month or so the bride is left at her parents home for few weeks... And then the real marriage or migration takes place."

I married in a traditional wedding in Indonesia, very similar rituals. even though we met on our own accord in Sydney 7 years before the rituals were very similar with arranged marriage , in regards to engagement process, family offerings (my parents had to ask her parents for me to marry her) and "pretending to meet for first time". the wedding goes for 3 days. we were both so bugged after our "first night" together we just crashed on the beautifully decorated bed and feel right asleep. The love making can wait for another day!! I'd do it all again, it was so fun.

Few rituals were performed and based on science of Ayurveda 1. Marriage must happen at the right age cz infant mortality rate was high so probability of bearing children must be higher. Hence the best time to conceive as per the biological clock was taken which was for men 22-30 and female 18-25. These rituals were for 5000 years and people somehow forgot the reason but it's still followed in some villages but in cities it has changed leading to birth related complications. 2. Turmeric and yogurt were used as natural beauty ingredients and improve smell and this rituals were common to both male and female. Turmeric improves skin texture and helps you get rid of skin defects like pimples and patches. 3. The 7 rounds of fire were done as indications of 7 promises a husband has to give his wife namely- a. You are going to treat the family of wife as your own. B. You will never let the dignity of wife be compromised. C. Whatever you earn, the wife has her right on it. D. You will never compel her to sell her jewelery. E. You are going to support your wife in all her religious works. F. Husband promises to provide livelihood and education to children while wife promises to take care of expenditure and household and give husband the children. G. They promise to be at each other's side and fill each other's life with love, respect, loyalty and satisfy each other's needs and they be the best friends forever. 3. Fire is an element of nature and weddings are generally done at night so that all 5 elements of nature be the witness to their marriage and their promises to each other. 4. Then husband puts toe ring at wife's toe as it is considered acupuncture point of uterus. 5. The sindoor (vermillion) is put over wife's head as the blood vessels were near to the surface that place and in old times sindoor's main component was mercury which helped women to have desired sexual activeness which she had to remove it once husband died. 6. Now mangal sutra or necklace was given by husband to ward of evil and as a sign of marriage. 7. Then the couples are blessed by married women with vermillion as a mark of good luck for the next phase. Next bangles were made to be worn by women to have stronger uterus as those days child birth was natural and stronger uterus meant better health of child and mother. Hope you had patience to read that much

hayy I just came across your channel yesterday, I'm also from Auckland and moved to India about 6 months ago. LOVE your knowledge of India/Indians and the culture/traditions. I'm currently living in Punjab, Northern India so the actual wedding ceremony was very different to the Sikh/Punjabi weddings I usually attend. It's also real nice to see how accepting your gfs fam is of you and your relationship as a lot of Indians can be quite strict and judgmental, I'm sure you know. Look forward to watching more vids... will you guys be coming up to Punjab anytime soon? =)

@jatishtyagi
@jatishtyagi 5 жыл бұрын
@@astrazenica7783 the bigger cylindrical pots are usually aluminium. They're cheap, easy to make and light in weight. The one at 6:20 is actually a large frying pan (called Kadhai in India) and this one's made out of Iron (I don't know if they mix other metals or carbon in small quantities, but it's mostly Iron). These utensils don't cost a lot in India. Usually 30-40 USD for the aluminum pot and something similar for the Iron frying pan as well. On top of that it's most probably not owned by the family. There are desi caterers (called Halwais) which own these pots. Its basically a one time investment for them as they get hired on a regular basis for events like marriages, birthdays, funerals, etc.
