Strange how the automatic leaves the car in 5th so long at 190.

I am buying this model soon and wondering what were the two flashing lights on the bottom right? It only came on sometimes and also sometimes flashes. One is on the speedometer and the other right at the bottom of the dash (next to a temp guage?)
