Amendment to this, you don't need to loosen the bottom manifold bolts in part 2. The bottom of the manifold is a tapered fit, just remove the top 5 bolts and then tap it up. We only discovered this when refitting it. We took the front off to re-fit it, made it a lot easier to work, not hard.

It is possible to get the Turbo out without the front of the car, but it would be much easier with it in the fwd maintenance position, watch a timing belt removal video to work out how to do that, it's not as hard as it looks. Our Turbo was making a high pitch noise under hard acceleration. We are fitting a Rotomaster Turbo in the next few days. Not game to fit a cheap e-bay one as it's a lot of work and for the extra 300 you get something that's OEM quality.
