Anna...great review...I have a Gen 2 TT convertible front-wheel drive and after 7 years, still love driving it...handlingand quickness are outstanding...for the money a great way to get the German performance experience without going all out on spending for a Porsche Boxster or 911.

Now this is better... brings back memories of 2nd gen TTS... I remember it as surprisingly practical and pleasant everyday sports car. It had an enormous turbo lag, almost like Volvos and Saabs from the 80’s, but when the turbo had spooled up, oh boy how cool it was! You seem to be making similar “noises” about the new version... A hair dresser’s car? Maybe but I’d visit a hair dresser who drives this any day! Jealous whispers, I say 😂 I could drive one again! At least if you are not pushing it to the limits all the time so under steering doesn’t come to play.

Hmmmm, at $81K it seems the TT has some competition, namely the Audi S3 or RS3. But I get it, all are nice cars. I'm surprised you are ok with the 2.0T's turbo lag. My S3 (2.0T @ 296 HP, tuned a bit higher) almost has an off/on gas pedal feel and is quite laggy until it decides to flip to the on position. Then it scoots out from under you. It makes the acceleration feel more brisk by making you wait for it. One thing you don't experience as a boring super model is that, as a reasonably tall dude the B pillar is in front of my left shoulder when I put the seat back to fit in. It's an odd driving feel that seems unique to these tightly wrapped Audis. Its hard to tell but it looks like the car might have the same, "I'm sitting in the back seat" feel for taller drivers. Thanks for your thoughtful reviews, I enjoy them.

I am torn between the BMW Z4 40i, and the Audi TT RS. I am leaning more toward the Z4 40i. I now live in Costa Rica, but I still miss the years of driving the German Autobahn, and speeding country to country!!

You look good and so does the car, but you don't cover the important details when reviewing an Audi. I own this car and added most of the extras. You said 'This car has some Bits & Pieces added' but the car you drove has LOTS of extras which are not standard ( as always with Audi they sell in 'Packs' to make much more money ) The extras I could see on that car were : Wheel type, Seat type, Vent Dials, upgraded Virtual Cockpit, Adaptive Suspension ( Comfort Mode ) all of these and None-Standard 'Options'. and I did not get a Chinchilla with my car, so I am talking to Audi about that :-). But, Always good to watch your 'Reviews' :-)

I think I saw a couple of things wobble Anna.

Last time i drove a TT must have been 2005 or so... It was the 225 HP version, not much change since then, in power at least, although I think the engine is totally different. I always thought that it felt too much like being in a submarine.. Really small windows and quite cramped.. Well, in those days I was driving my M3 Convertible with 321 HP from an atmo inline 6... Now THAT was a real engine. Of course, driving a 4-banger turbo with 100 hp less, there was no way I could enjoy it. But in those 15 years, the TT very likely made progresses. I hope. But in my opinion, the car industry is not really progressing. Where are the glorious 6 Cylinders from BMW or Alfa Romeos that we used to have ? You know, those that gave you goose bumps at 7000 RPM? Nowadays, we only have turbo engines that can't even DREAM about reaching 7000 RPM... much less give us goose bumps...yeah, I know, I sound like a grumpy old Frenchman... But as I stated before, there's always Anna to admire. And that alone is worth watching the video. I think even if she was testing a wheelbarrel, we would all be in awe (well, the swiss roads contribute too, to be fair)..BTW, nice watch... is it a Rolex Datejust ?

Anna how does the TT compare to a base Porsche 911? I always thought of the TT as a dumb downed Porsche. Almost like an Audi RS3 vs. Porsche. If you are gonna spend that much on the RS3, might as well get the Porsche. Thoughts???

I like the TT a lot :) but friends told me when they tested the car suspensione were a bit soft, is it true ? I see you there flexing the perfect " quattro " pronunciation 😎. p.s : if you want a cheap and perfectly working GPS I suggest Dragy

The fuss would have been perfect with some large carbon paddle shifters, I'm going to put them on mine, removing the original ones. The steering wheel with these paddles and the alcantara leather with red embroidery is another story like Jet Kun Do.
