how much is used 14? you may want to go for new id4 (if you don't need the extra inputs and outputs)

@@imamusicmogul it's about the same price of a evo 8. I do want to be able to monitor two outputs. I have a firewire duet. I will need 2 50€ apple cables to connect it to the M1 Mac. Much to my surprise, the evo 8 is right in my budget. I think I will go with it, but no real hurry. I am using a Yamaha AG06 right now, it's ok but versatile. Thanks for all the info

yeah new one gets more power to the components with the new usb-c connection, so the components work better with more power, also the dynamic range is improved on the converters so less noise etc.

@@imamusicmogul the cable you use is very important. Make sure that you get a 9 pin usb 3.0 to usb c cable. There are fakes out there.

YES there will be a downside. ONLY usb C (usb 3.1) can deliver up to 5000mA - the older ones (the rectangular ones up to UBS 3.0) can only supply 900mA! No adapter is going to change that. You will need a dedicated PCI(MCA) card that gives you a dedicated usb C PORT.

yes they would be fine - these are capable of driving headphones up to 600Ohms so you should be good to go

Yes I was looking to get the DT-770 Pro 250 ohm headphones and wanted to know if they will work with the ID14 MK2

I can recommend the DT-990s. Audient told me 250 Ohms should work great on the new device, but maybe a bit of a dip in volume if you run two at the same time.

Make sure to use UCB-C, or the signal will be too weak for the high impedance ones.

I think you should be fine with yours, but these do perform a little better overall

it should be the same USB C is the same as USB 2 or USB 3.0 just in a different shape so bandwidth would be the same - it would be different if it was thunderbolt which has larger bandwidth but in this case it should be the same.

Of course not USB C doesn't have same bandwidth as USB 2.0 so just make sure you are using at least USB 3.0. In the end that's what people from Audient says it's not even guaranteed that it will work properly connected to USB 2.0

USB 3 Protocol with USB-C connectors. Don't get yourself confused. USB 3 allows to provide phantom power using bus power whereas USB 2.0 couldn't, which was why the earlier versions had an external power supply.

If you need 2 preamps get the old id14 or if you can manage from one preamp you can surely buy id4 mk2. I'll suggest to save for id14 new for lifetime one time investment and viewing future prospective

@@lerlerler1 The id4 Mk2 only has 2 outputs so the mixer doesn't offer as much control because there is nothing more to control.

@@tomjohnson6675 I was talking about installing a mixer on porpose to use a loopback function on iD4 mk2 (not only on iD14 mk2), if I understood it right.

yes - its a little different and got some updates.

The mixer app can look like that for 1st gen if you choose View>User Interface Style>Modern.

@@bittergums32 no summing to mono was possible using id button with ID14 1st gen as well I have ID14 1st gen and I was using it all the time but when I bought ID4 1st gen I couldn't open ID software mixer I was only able to change sample rate

yes you can use id button to sum to mono on both devices

Well that’s really just you being reckless, you just turn your computer off it’s like saying “this graphics card is terrible because it draws power although I can run any game at and setting I want. It’s what you paid for.

The audio interface is like your printer or your monitor. Neither your monitor, or your printer comes with no on/off switch. Nobody is as "reckless" and cheap as audience. Itaroundelectronic devices were sold. The switch would have cost them pennies, but they in their never ending greed they decided to make you pay. It is not a design flaw, it is an externality. This device is used a fraction of the time the computer is on, and that is the reason it should have a on / off switch. I bought the device and did not installed after the return time was off. Would I know this aberration has not on/off switch, I would have not spend a dime on it. Now, I would not buy anything from this company in my life. Externalities have consequences. They saved less than a dollar, and they lost a consumer for life.

@@dickusmaxximun8126 what do mean “is used a fraction of the time the computer is on” this is meant for people want to record audio and play it back, that should be your only purpose for an interface, to interface with the DAW your using and take signal from a source and relay it through the daw and out to monitors or headphones, if your unable to see the performance benefit of the audient mk2 interfaces over the competition your clearly not in the right market, one little discrepancy suddenly discounts the amazing price to performance ratio of these devices, if your just wanting to use a microphone to talk to your friends then get a blue yeti and don’t bother with an interface, you clearly aren’t very serious about sound, features or performance to price, also the graphics card comparison is a fair one since you don’t need an interface to have a microphone but if you want your audio to be any good your going to need one, like how you can get away with an integrated graphics card but if you actually really want to play games well you will need a dedicated graphics card. You don’t seem very interested in the Myriad of features that come with the audient id14mk2 for example such as phase flip, loop back, low latency monitoring, 2 sets of outputs, 2 xlr/line inputs, separate phantom power switches, Cubase LE DAW plus 3 extra plugins and 3 tutorials free. Not to mention scroll control, dim, mute, headphone Amp that can power up to 600 ohm headphones. Just because it doesn’t have an on/off switch then it’s useless. Just remove the usb c cable if that’s so concerning to you. These products are the least driven by greedy executives that you’ll find as far as interfaces are concerned. Get a bigger problem and stay out of the market if your this hung up over something so insignificant

Please elaborate your critique, your'e not being fair. Are you saying this interface doesn't work on Windows 10? I highly doubt it only works for Mac.

I also have the motu m2, but they say that the audient id4 id14 sound better ... the warmer the real sound>? =

My iD4 Mk 2 is working fine on my Windows 10 system. You need to make sure that you have the right cable.

check the audient website for availability - it should be available everywhere the mark 1s were available soon

@@imamusicmogul Sorry that's $400 Canadian plus $57 shipping on amazon. On Sweetwater I did find it for $299us but I also found the xenyx qx1002usb for $99 which basically does the same thing. The problem with the Behringer is you don't get the drivers any more and you have to use 3rd party drivers. When I bought mine the drivers came with it from Behringer.
