Thanks! Floor be in low in the mix is choice of the band/Tuomas. Floor is meant to be part of choir and one instrument among other. She kind is one among ancestors not one individual. Recommend really check out music video video "phrase " We are dream of many ancestor" quite explain meaning of the song. Male singer is Troy. New bass player is Jukka Koskinen from Wintersun. He not sing in Nightwish(at least last tour 2022-203). He can/was do some harsh vocals in Wintersun.

Nightwish with a live orchestra and choir would be AMAZING! I would definitely pay big bucks to see that in person. Btw your channel is a huge inspiration for me, and I've started making reaction videos too. Great reaction as always, looking forward to S&M Metallica and the next Nightwish one!

The only reason that Ghost Love Score exploded was because Floor took it to another level. As she did every song by Anette. I can only assume that you have never heard Anette attempt to stay in tune when performing live. Such a disappointment. By the way treat yourself to the music video to this as it is astonishing.

You're embarrassing. This is not some singer fanatic-cult.This is Nightwish. Although ofcourse you're not a Nightwish fan, you're Floor Jansen fan doing your part keeping Nightwish fandom toxic. If you were Nightwish fan you'd never talk about their singer in a belittling way as you've done before no matter if you liked her or not. Such a disappointment.

Amazing chorus. love how everything comes together so powerfully. doesn't really feel like an 8 minute song though, with how the beginning and the ending seem kinda skippable.

Hi Patrick, when you get to Megadeth start by listening to their debut album, "Killing Is My Business ... and Business Is Good" Oh I rewatched that St. Anger review video of yours and you said that megadeth, "I am not looking forward to". I am really thrilled to see you and maybe Chris react to it.

The good news is that Jukkis can sing backing vocals, and can do them pretty harsh too. The bad news is he says he won’t be doing any singing with Nightwish. Great bassist though.

Nightwish dont dissapoint "did you feel the ghost energy song" I listened to this song maybe 50 times by now, and it is one i like to listen to with my headphones or without, its really a good song, when i can do so to me. Some say Floors voice is low in the mix, and i can agree its hard to get all words she sing, but if you look at it soundwise it sounds amazing!! and after a listen or 2, you know most of lyrics, and its no problem at all, its done fully on purpose for the sound experince of it.. cant wait for rest of album!! Yesterwynde is the opening track on new album, i belive its only like a intro, its a little over 2 min long, #2 on album then is a almost 10 min song, thats proberly another epic!! #3 is where i think they bring in a heavy track, and this Perfume of the timeless is #5.. so i think its gonna be a good mix of heavy songs, Epics, and maybe a full balled.. Perfume of the timeless, well its almonst a ghost energy song right, telling all these ancestors is perfume around in a timeless world, being around you still, also a message that your existens matters!! i feel tuomas also put in a little message that mankind could do better still, Einstein turn to ape.. The title of the album is a word made by band member Troy Donockley, which Holopainen describes as the feeling of time, history, memory, and being connected to past generation, who have "all had their lives, their ups and downs, and they don't exist anymore, except as atoms scattered all over the universe. And we're going to be in that state pretty soon as well. So that should give you something to think about." Holopainen has described the album as being about humanism, history, and the inspiration thereof, and that outlook of the album is positive and optimistic ] Track listing Yesterwynde: release date 20th September 2024 All tracks are written by Tuomas Holopainen. Yesterwynde track listingNo. Title Length 1. "Yesterwynde" 2:43 2. "An Ocean of Strange Islands" 9:26 3. "The Antikythera Mechanism" 5:55 4. "The Day of..." 4:34 5. "Perfume of the Timeless" 8:11 6. "Sway" 4:23 7. "The Children of 'Ata" 5:37 8. "Something Whispered Follow Me" 6:39 9. "Spider Silk" 6:26 10. "Hiraeth" 6:14 11. "The Weave" 4:53 12. "Lanternlight" 6:06 Total length: 71:07

Ok, very, very intresting reaction. First u named nearly all albums of Nightwish, but my absolute favorit not: Endless Forms Most Beautiful - which included my absolute favorite track: "The greatest show on earth" - its a a fantstic piece of art! The new album hopefully will be a a perfect sequel to this album. But you missed something importent - the video! Its one of the best i ever saw. U cant understand the Intro without video and many other things... the video is really a piece of art! Please check it out!

Patrick, you should start reacting to Dream Theater. I think you would like it for its prog-style and use of keyboard with heavy metal and also Pantera because they are the heaviest and the grooviest band. It would be cool to see you listen to them starting from the Cowboys of Hell album.

Choir patch? I haven't checked the credits for this album, but the vocal formants for the mezzo vs soprano voices seems to be a bit different... this could be done with a patch, but I haven't heard anything like that since I voiced pipe organs back in the early 80's. It seems like you might have Floor connected a little too tightly with Epica (mentioned twice) ... Simone Simons sings with Epica. Floor has recorded 2 live tracks as duets with Simone/Epica. Imaginarium = 2012, iirc.. maybe 2011. This song : I agree about the placement of voices in the mix. Although I could imagine an album concept in which the voices are placed alongside the orchestra level (a little like a traditional opera... voices unaided by amplification vs a 120 piece orchestra.) But I obviously don't know if that's what they are after.. I DO like the rather robust placement of the bass instruments (be they bowed uprights, cellos, or amplified solidbody basses). In the final chorus I'm not sure I heard a guitar playing rhythm. Anyway, this was a refreshing view on the song. You were missing a lot of context by ignoring the visual side. It would be beneficial, imo, to view the video at least once, as it may help explain some of the decisions made in both recording techniques and at the DAW. (I would bet there was a few extra mics picking up the double bass(es) directed at vibrational peaks on the spruce... or perhaps the back (which is sorely overlooked as a mic target. I wish you well, and hope you enjoy the music you choose.

Our sincerest thanks go to everybody involved, musicians, singers and technicians alike. Your passion and dedication never ceases to amaze us. Very special thanks to Mr. James Shearman for wonderfully filling the massive shoes of our long-time orchestral arranger, Mr. Pip Williams. Onwards!" Marko can now imagine returning again if the Nightwish management is completely renewed. The request sounds reasonable, apart from a return. Dark Side of the Moon was created through a bet between the guitarist of Feuerschwanz and the singer of Ad Infinitum. The singer then smuggled in her husband, who is the drummer for Amaranthe. @PatrickMusilek

That is true and definitely I Want My Tears Back is maybe my favorite song from the album, and that one has a really cool solo section that is definitely inspired by that Celtic influence (as I was calling it). But I still think overall the album is very bombastic and orchestral in nature. I think endless forms most beautiful still had that feeling but I didn't care for the production as much and I didn't find the vocal melodies to be as memorable or as fun to listen to. I think human nature has a few really great moments but overall it just doesn't feel the same to me as those three albums I mentioned loving. Imaginarium still has a very cinematic feel as well.

Since Tuomas works directly with the Orchestra and choirs (see the docs) he mixes them into the music. Lots of brass and other instruments in this song, but I do not hear strong guitars, although I assume they are there. You have heard All the works of Nature that adorn the world. Lots of Harp in the orchestra mix. Love his use of Harp. Tuomas writes complex singing parts for Floor because she can sing them. Floor can sing harshly, but Tuomas generally does not like that in his music, from what I understand. Sorry you do not like classical music or the new Nightwish.

I'm not going to say I like Anette-sung Nightwish, but I'm with you in liking the pre-pompous albums more. I'm a simple metalhead, too much weird ambience and it's not gonna end up to my rotation. Century Child is still the Nigthwish album I have played back most, with Wishmaster and Once close second and third. I do like some of the newer songs, especially in live setting that's a bit rougher and raw, but it's more fun to look people reacting to them than to actually toss them to my playlist. With this, I guess you are as happy as I am to hear that Tuomas has said the Yesterwynde is going to be heavier than the two previous albums. Wynde It's pronounced with -ai-, not -i-, like winding a clock, not the airflow outdoors.

Live performances are not very important to me at all. In fact I've said on my channel many times that I actually dislike live music. However there is definitely a lot of value in seeing a live interpretation of a song, and of course something like ghost love score performed live being one of the Great performances of all time is something very special. But 99.999% of the time I'm going to be listening to music it's going to be off of an album with full studio production and all the effort that the recording studio and band could put into it!

Elu-vee-eh-tee? .. i don't think i have EVER heard a bandname butchered THIS badly before .. EVER. Also talk about missing the grand picture of a band, more or less demanding they remain static "or i won't listen anymore" .. believe me, they are doing quite good without you so please, stay in your dark little corner and sulk and leave the enjoyment of this great music to those of us that understand. Added note : Annette is the favorite singer of NW? well, that explains it all. You have no love for actual rock or metal singers, and prefer the poppy bubblegum stuff. Go react to Taylor Swift instead.
