My theory (and many other's) is that usopp is going to develop a lot in his observation haki and will be able to see the future just like Luffy and Katakuri, and maybe this huge boost he needs is coming up in elbaf. We've seen him getting better at it in dressrossa by seeing sugar's outline and I think the next logical step is getting futuresight too. This way, he can shoot to augur's position before he teleports there, and could also realistically dodge his bullets as well. I'd really like to see Oda spend some good time on this fight and have them both use covers, scenery and such and also usopp coming up with creative ways to land shots

To be fair almost all of his rivals have fallen on hard times, except the strawhats and Shanks. The warlords were abolished removing any support they might have gotten from the government freeing him up to attack Boa. Big Mom and Kaido died allowing him to attack the whole cake and secure Pudding. The revolutionary army and navy have been stretched extremely thin due to all the recent chaos. This is very much the time to act before the new balance of power in the world begins to take shape to keep him in check.

I believe Usopp is definitely not going to be super strong by the end. He’s going to be super courageous and will believe in his lying as his greatest strength. Auger is about precision. What the saying “a true shot.” In our very first introduction to him the focus of his design is the precision scope on his eye. Even in this chapter, he is telling Saturn the truth. The truth that Blackbeard has been skating around, without giving us a direct answer. I think Usopp, instead of firing someone before he gets there, will be the manipulator, controlling the landscape with lies. Tricking Auger into thinking he is in places he isn’t or tricking him into warping into places he can target him.

Just from a practicality standpoint; Auger's power is incredibly useful to the Blackbeard Pirates and their attempts to get any devil fruit in the world they want. He is absolutely crucial in getting any blackbeard pirate where they need to go with way less travel time than anyone else in the entire world needs.

I still think Laffitte is Hatori. That would explain how Blackbeard knew Saturn would be in egghead. The look of surprise by Devon wasn't because Saturn was there, it was because he just fell right into the laps via Luffy's Dawn Gatling.... I think Saturn was the plan the whole time after Blackbeard encountered the seraphim on Amazon Lilly. He wants a way to command them. P.S. I'm 39 so I get the van down by the river SNL reference, love it. And I totally think Van Ogre moved Luffy....

I was writing a whole text about how useless and detrimental his aim/scope monocle is to a sniper, as it is not fixed to the gun and it competes with the gun's aim, and then it hit me. Since there is a distance limit to his warp, Auger uses his degreed lens to be sure where he can safely warp to. Man, Oda is a great world builder.

Augur being hyped up so much just before we move to Elbaf, flanked by Giants, is clearly set up for one of the flashiest, glossiest glow up in Usopp. Like the Usopp v Augur fight in the end saga will be legendary

I'm really hoping it ends up being just one big mexican sniper standoff and Usopp takes him out with one accurate shot. A fancy shootouts are cool but its not really befitting a sniper duel.

@@smittyjjensin558 I think it'll be more augur is warping around taking potshots at usopp as he's trying (and potentially failing) to line up and take his first shot. I agree a guns blazing shootout isn't fitting snipers, but the Blackbeard pirates are probably the final bosses of the manga, Oda's not gonna end Usopp's fight so quick/simply. Truth be told I think it'll be used to show Usopp has a unique form of observation haki that lets him detect where augur will show up with his warp fruit so he can shoot there instead of where he is. As another note one of Usopp's lies is about defeating 10 giant shadows... Ten Titanic captains... I really think Usopp might be key to the victory (like him beating Van Augur breaks whatever strategy or scheme BB is doing)

I like Augur's ability, but I think it's an ability that will pale in comparison to Usopps eventual future sight ability. His gift is Observation and thats the highest form of observation. Besides a well known power of a God is to be able to see the future.

Maybe Lafitte is already on Elbaf? Maybe he's already hypnotized Loki into doing something. I think the next chapters going to be a big one. 108 is a important number in the east. So, chapter 1108 might be dealing with Nika, or maybe even Imu, before they show up in the anime. As for who gave Luffy the food, I can't help but think about the Tontatta. This is pretty similar to how those guys were overlooked. Who do we know who's really small?

I think there is a nuance you missed in the last chapter. Saturn being on egghead was a convenience that made Katarina's mission easier, it wasn't the mission statement itself. Touching him allowed her to complete the mission. My guess is then the objective was taking control of the seraphim.

Since we're on Augur topic, last chapter the way he answered immediately to Saturn made me wonder, what if Oda wants to play the opposite game with Usopp and Augur. Like Augur would have this compulsive need to always tell the truth but actually the thing he says rarely become true, like Blackbeard ruling the world. PS : this could lead to a moment in the fight where Usopp is obviously lying about something but then Augur agrees with him and we don't know what's gonna happen

X-X Devil Fruit” where you go through all of the hunted devil fruits the BB crew got in the time-skip, how did they decide who got which, who could have been the previous user and how did they team up to get those as well as battle strategies to kill the previous user, Warp-Warp fruit would be interesting to learn a battle strategy and a team to get that one!

I always thought his design kicked ass and he was easily one of the more memorable of the BB Pirates (back when they were really obscure and had like 5 members) for shooting those 3 birds from islands away, but now it's getting to a point where he's becoming one of my favourite OP characters in general. I've always loved teleporting characters that are sort of used like vehicles of convenience, Finral from Black Clover is one of them

I got the Down by the river reference! In 5th grade we did a speech unit where you could recite any speech, and someone did that for their speech, the whole thing. Also love the psych t shirt! Personally, I think Lafitte is terrifying. How did he sneak into mariejois without being detected by 7 warlords? Why does he keep playing the devil side of decision making for blackbeard?
