I've been preparing my Christmas spirit since March, so it's been lovely working on a Christmas advertisement during the last weeks. @@jackpurchon6695 Not really, it's just a woman singing it slightly slower, there's nothing particularly wow about this, if it were it's own song then yeah it would be good but as it's not I find it a bit "meh!" Most people don't know it's a cover because it wasn't an Oasis A side and was mainly known from the British sitcom the Royale Family.

I also don't think you understand what a cover version is. When an artist performs their version of a song originally by someone else it's a cover, which is what this song is!

I remember my best friend sending me the link to this song. she said “it’s just like us, we’re half a world away” we met on the internet and she was very important to me. we told each other we would meet someday and grow old together. we’re not friends anymore. i found the link not knowing it was this song and immediately burst into tears because it reminds me of her :( we haven’t talked in months and she doesn’t want to be friends anymore. everything reminds me of her. If you’re reading this, thank you for being my friend and even though we didn’t know each other for very long, it felt like i’ve known you for years. i miss you more than you can imagine. i’ll never forget you.

Friend break ups can sometimes be even more painful than relationship ones. I had a friend that I guess I may not have appreciated enough until he was gone. I loved him and he was one of my best friends for sure #1 out of any guy friend I'd ever had...I felt a deep connection to him almost like we were destined to be a part of each other's lives but I never told him until it was too late and he went on to live his life without me. I wish we could see each other again since we live in the same city but he cut me off and we haven't spoken in months. I listen to this song and can't help but to think of him because although I know he's not that far, it feels like he's half the world away 😔

Before I knew who Aurora was I heard this song in a John Lewis ad and fell in love with her, I never could find this song though. Later I saw Running with the wolves in my recommended and found her voice familiar. Looked at more of her songs and found this :)

Every time she said, "half the world away" it just made me cry harder because when I was nine I moved half across the country from my best friend in the whole world.. I'm eleven now and..well I just still can't get over how much I miss her. She's always busy..I feel like I can never talk to her and I only get to see her in the summer for like two weeks... This song is just too sad for me..

Alva Applepie things get better. I moved to America from Australia when I was young and left everything. you'll find new people and a new self within you and they'll do the same. they'll always be your childhood friend and hold a special home in your heart but there's better things in the future

Alva Applepie When I was 11 I moved 4000 miles away from my best friend, I'm 16 and let me just say, that eventually it gets better. I was in the same slump for a few years but it got better and this summer I'm actually going to visit her! (Yay) but I promise best friends don't ever stop being best friends. Especially from when you were kids.

Yes, her rendition of the song is very good. Pretty sure everyone knows its a cover. They're not daft. I'm actually pretty sure Oasis sold the rights to the song to John Lewis for the advert anyway - or they got paid a lot for her to cover it.

My favorite part about this video as that the way she moves and the emotion given is just pure Aurora. The way she moves and thinks is exactly this. This isn't dramatic acting, this is her. Graceful and full of love.
