People from all over the world flock to Yellowknife to see the aurora borealis or "northern lights", and the perfect place to view them is just outside of the city in a destination called Aurora Village. People gather in traditional tipis heated by cozy wood fires and wait for the light show to emerge. We had the opportunity to visit Aurora Village on two different nights AND during the day when they have dog sled rides, tubing, and campfires where you can roast marshmallows.
