for the next outback, try randoming the civs outside the game on the swiss, and make once the civ is played its removed from the player roster. More variety, less op civs

I used to watch literally every single of your video but I lost interest in AoE4. Now I came back just because of Outback Octagon. I have to say this is such an amazing content and definetely best I have seen from AoE for sure. Keep this up !

Drongo, one of the reasons that you are seeing so much knights isn't really because of the pop rules ( i mean sure they help) but it's mainly that the maps for OO2 aren't megarandom and your own custom maps which are very flat and very open. This is isn't a criticism for these maps have produced some crazy good games, but they do enable cav really hard, with no natural defense around you, you need a more mobile army, and cav is hard countered by choke points, which there aren't really any on tasmania or Uluru. We also have been getting a crazy amount of French lol.

yeah the maps are omega open, theres like no natural protection. stone walls are easy to take down with a few bombard/cannon shots and then bam, 100 elite knights in your base the french pick rates are also interesting, meanwhile we only saw like 1 delhi and 1 or 2 malians

Let’s not also forgot that this whole thing is about killing a king , a king which is FAST and usually in a building inside of a base. What comp is the easiest to kill a king in this situation? No not the slow infantry civ , it’s the cav army that can rush in burn down the building the king is in and chase him down and kill him. You never want to build infantry to kill a king unless you have a COMPLETE surround on the king or he will get away.

pretty frustratin one, striker picked a fight with me which basically means we are both not gonna have a chance in the game in the long run, but at least the winner of the fight will get the other persons kings and 1 point, right?!? wrong.. :(

I would love if he did a weekly video of the score for KZfaq, I know that on twitch he shows the score, but it would enhance the viewing experience on youtube if the Results were shared.

I love the new rules for OO! and I also think it would be fun to have a tournament structured with some hybrid of these and the old rules, like maybe some games are not king-based which would mix up the game plan a bit, bring back China cockroaching across the map, etc. Maybe in future versions of OO we could see a variety of FFA game modes introduced. Loving every second of these games tho!

Maybe a cohost to keep an independent train of thoughts helps with catching events? Like catching a bbq rush in the work, while narrating the general progression of the oher matchups. Those are fundamentally two different threads. Two separate brains may help

One way you could spice up to opening minutes would be to show the standings - who has how many points total and in which categories, and after how many matches played

I'd love it if some of these matches had some theme. Like vil only 8 player ffa. Or siege only or scout only. This would really diversify the choices in which a game could end and force everyone to not rely on the tried and tested mass knight spam

What happened to Ourks army? He had a huge knight army and defended his TC. Then we focused on other fights and we came back to Ourk and he was under pressure but seemed to have no knights. How did they die?

Is Matiz allowed to say in chat that Bee was attacking him and that he had nothing at home? It feels like an indirect way of teaming or asking for help. Not in the spirit of the game imo

nah thats extremely common in ffa, its not really teaming, because its a complete double edged sword. While on the one hand it tells the whole lobby that bee is out base it also tells them that matiz is also a free kill.

True, I get that. It felt like a pretty desperate attempt to stay in the game. And I know it happens in FFA all the time. I just figured that because this is a tournament with rules against teaming (except in certain circumstances such as wonder/sacred site victory, or massive pop advantage) that this act was at the very least bending the rules, if not breaking them

I also suspect Bee donated his king to Blade55555. At 17:16 you can see he wrote in chat "Take me", and seconds later he was assassinated.

@@Eoin1 Seems he was salty at getting attacked, not realizing it was a pretty organic and reasonable strategy. You're allowed to interfere in a duel to gain your own advantage.

All these fools are picking their civs. So many cheaters. Impossible to get this many French..again. It’s less than 1/4000 and we have it again for second week in a row so less than one in million. These cheaters are not going random:)
