I actually went to Australia Decides. And he was just incredible. People are gonna call the song boring, but you simply cannot deny the emotion and rawness that he puts into his performance. That’s what makes this so special.

Sheldon riley was the underdog for years, not winning the first place in other song compation shows and not having his moment to shine but now he got it! So for someone who has been following his journy for years I'm so happy for him! I was going to vote him even before listening to the song cus he is such a talented wonderful young man, he,s joruny touches my heart, I'm so rooting for him. .... I adore him. The mask is his thing, as well as the beautiful clothes he wears, he brings it everytime.

I think Sheldon would be very happy to see Toy getting so emotional at the end because it proofs that he got the massage through and I have to confess I got tears in my eyes too simply because every word carries such a deep meaning and so much emotions and while he's singing you see that he is feeling every word he sings (my opinion)

I just found out Sheldon has Asperger’s and this is what the song is about him not being the same, fitting into that mould. I watched the performance live and I said to my son who has autism see we are all not the same (not knowing at the time Sheldon has Asperger’s) the words I could relate to and it what’s such meaning to it. My son has welcomed me to the world of Eurovision he is obsessed with it. He is only 15 but what he knows about Eurovision is mind blowing, he can tell me the winner of ever year since Eurovision has been going on. Eurovision is his life. So in saying this, this song really has touched my heart, and alot of people could relate to not fitting in the square box. A proud Aussie and so proud of Sheldon for being a voice for people who perhaps don’t have a voice to tell their story.

I just love that this is what the song is about. I assumed it was about being gay, which is why it spoke to me, but if not then it shows how fantastic these lyrics are as they can so easily connect with so many people! Powerful stuff!

@@ToyAndGoy Sheldon was diagnosed three times with the Asperger Syndrome between age 6 - 12. He didn't speak and the docters told he never will. His father is Filipino and he is gay. That is why he didn't feel like he is the same as other kids. The song was written by him in a very young age. I love this song. ❤

Normally I'm not a big ballad person so this year's set of songs is not going so great for me but Sheldon absolutely blew it out the park for me his voice and the staging were just perfect I loveee everything about this song it's just so so beautiful

Well, I'm a dammm truck driver from USA and I'm a football and race fan. Pretty much a manly man. I'm gonna say this guy is special, his song is Great, but his voice is out of this world.... That young person is got something that you don't find very often,. He is real and damn powerful with his voice. Just amazing 🔥

I'm an aspie with aspie kids. I heard this the first time and the day he released it and I lost it. We don't get to see our people telling our stories ever. I sobbed through his performance live. The mask is what we do - its not a gimmick its how we cope. The fact that he could take that mask off at the end showed his journey and how far he has come. He still doesn't eye contact but he is out there. And no we have Advance Australia Fair though most of us hate it.

This guy was in America's Got Talent in "Got Talent Global" series where his performances were amazing. There also he wore the face attire and al the articraft. Before he was in The X Factor Australia and later in the Voice Australia where he was so popular and came third in The Voice while in Boy George Team. Now he won the selection for Australia's Eurovision entry. He was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome at a very young age. He is of Filipino origin on the father side.

I'm not going to lie, I've probably watched his performance 150 times and I still cry like a baby. This song resonates with me so much, it is SUCH a powerful ballad, so much raw emotion and just gorgeous vocals and background music is phenomenal that really sets the atmosphere. For me, it is a solid 10/10 and after listening to all entries this is my absolute winner for Eurovision this year

Your reaction was my reaction the first time I listened to this song. I was practically shaking after hearing the bridge into the last chorus for the first time, and he brought it to life beautifully on the stage. There's something so powerful about the simplicity and rawness of the song and the story he is telling. It's going to resonate with a lot of people. I'm so excited for him and to see him perform this on the Eurovision stage.

You've just made my wife grumpy. She'd gone to bed early & I woke her up shouting "FFS, give Toy a hug, he's crying." Some artists really get to you, & Sheldon is one. I've listened to it a few times now & have cried each time. He's got raw emotion & talent oozing out of every pore.

I am so glad the performance gave you the emotional hit that it gave me. I am Aussie and gave all my votes to Sheldon but he only narrowly won. He is the total package and that's why I love him and I think Europe will love him too. You should watch the video of the winner announcement and his final performance. His tears and reaction are so genuine and that will make you cry even more. Love you guys ♥️🇦🇺👍

Yesss so happy you like this one!! When I first heard it about a week or so ago I was blown away and I always feel like if a song hits me emotionally then it’s a winner, I’ve seen Sheldon on various talent shows over the years so I knew as long as he had a good song he’d most likely be going through, you really should check out the covers he’s done on the talent shows like the voice his vocals and performances have always been in a different league and I really don’t know how he hasn’t had more success outside of Australia so far, really hope eurovision makes him internationally successful he fully deserves it

Also the whole message of the song about not being the same is mainly to do with when he was diagnosed with Asperger’s at the age of 6/7 so it’s a really personal story to him and obviously the message of not being the same is relatable to most people so I just think this will do really really well, so far its my second place under brividi

It`s actually an incredible performance and he`s an amazing vocalist. As for the song itself, I feel the lyrics are amazing but it`s strangely lacking a melody . I feel that you come away moved but not humming a song and , in many cases that`s what makes or breaks in ESC. I`m sure this will do very , very well because of his performance . I just wonder if , in the next few days I`ll be able to get the melody: as opposed to Brividi which was an immediate ear-mole that I haven`t been able to get out of my head since I first heard it and I can`t understand a single word of that lyric. Nonethelss, I`d put this firmly in my Top 3 with Italy and Poland, which is , I think, the first time I`ve ever had only ballads as my favorites.

Where do I start... I'm trying to be unbiased (I'm sad that Charley didn't win with her song "I Suck At Being Lonely"). This song is not bad. But I don't feel anything while listening to it. It's forgetable to me. But maybe it will grow on me (It's probably not gonna be in my top 10 though).

Australia is never a realistic possibility of winning unfortunately. There are still so many people who question us being in Eurovision, so we will never get those votes. Which is a shame, because we have great entries, and so many Europeans that live here!

@@Sammy-il1qf There are only 3 people who didn't do well in the televote, Isaiah and Jess (very generic songs) and Montaigne who had a divisive song. Guy, Dami and Kate all did very well.

If a ballad is "predicted" to be a winner, that year is weak in Eurovision. 2012, 2015, 2018, 2021 were strong, competitive years and winners were NOT ballads. Other years just meh, this year is meh too until now. Another ballad winning year most probably. I want a non-ballad song to win.

I literally do not get why you are complaining about a ballad possibly winning. Some of the greatest Eurovision songs are ballad. Not every winner/song can be about fireworks and loud beats and definitely not every ballad has to be boring
