He good old CLs. Im american and i adore the CLs. They're the streamlined cousins of our SD40s and SD40-2s. CLP12 looks good wearing primer white. CL17 is preserved and is under restoration back to operating condition and then to Commonwealth Railways appearance. They sure are nice locomotives.

I live in the US, and I absolutely love the CLF's and the CLP's!!! A streamliner with the heart of an SD40-2!!! I'm going to head over to Aucision and see of they are in yet.

Now Auscision Models has CLP and CLF models. Their CLF page shows CLF3 painted in an Australian National passenger based paint job with SSR logos.

Yeah they are a very unique unit, I've managed to get quite a few videos of them now, defs try and get over here, there's plenty of classics still Running here.

@@PC81101 on an average weekday 5-10 trains a day, depending on grian movement which at this point is where the older emds are hauling, 81s, 82s, Cs.. Alcos emds, and if you want to hear them singing like I do, that area is great, the town of gunning is right at the base of the climb. The southern east coast of nsw is very active with intermodal, steel, and grain traffic, even Victoria at the moment, our trains have nothing on your stuff, it boggles my mind the sheer size and weight you're hauling compared to us.

That's just the gopro on a magnet mount or selfie stick type thing. Depends on safety at the time and what's Involved on the train.

Hi Aussie, as usual I love your work but where are the longer cab rides (an hour or so) you promised me a year ago? I hope you will record a longer ride or two soon and will you please put the camera right up against the windscreen so that we only get scenery 😀 Thanks in advance.

It will happen, the issue is 95% of the work is night shift so not much to see, next day run I'll try set something up.

Good day Adam, Saw this lash up the other day down at Emerald. Need to lash up the 4 x CLP & CLF as you did last year. Casper, Space Ghost & the 2 x Rail Power units. Was one of the RP CL units involved in the derailment up north 3 to 4 months ago ? Stay safe sounded awesome. Any news on the L Class ? The other SD 40. Cheers Louis 👍 🇦🇺

Yes, SSR CLF1 & RP CLF4 were in the derailment, as far as I know CLF4 is getting repaired and CLF1 is getting scrapped. L277 is being used as a Banker in the Werris Creek area

Unfortunately yes. Back in March 2023 a Southern Shorthaul Railroad train collided with a truck at a level crossing. CLF-1 got badly damaged and is awaiting the cutting torch as SSR found it too expensive to repair CLF-1. CLF-4 is under repair along with the rest of the locomotives involved.

Apart from my beloved Victorian taxpayer funded C class locos, I sometimes fantasize about a pair of broad gauge equipped Morrison Knudsen CLP/F rebuilds on the Ingliston Bank being lead by a single VR L class on an electrified section as far as Ballarat. I'm thinking hi viz reflective stripes on a background of yellow on the nose & pilot of CLP12 might look better than the existing rather bland paint scheme. I like bland and utilitarian except for when I don't...

Streamliners Australia has plans to send CL17 over to the US at some point to meet EMD FT demonstrator #103.
