Linz is the capital of Upper Austria and is a dynamic industrial city with an old town that has a long history. It is the third largest city in Austria and is located on both banks of the Danube with several connecting bridges. Salzburg is a city of bishops and of music and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Austria as well as being the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The Grossglockner High Alps Road travels through one of the greatest natural landscapes in the world, the Hohe Tauern National Park, a remarkable mountain world in which nature is at its most glorious. Although this former powerful realm of the Habsburger is now a relatively small country, its history, traditions and the diversity of its remarkable landscapes have retained their irresistible allure. Austria will always be the majestic land in the very heart of Europe!

***** You can't blame Austria for an evil and wicked tyrant like Hitler. If I didn't live here in Exeter, Devon, I think it would be nice to live in the Tyrol, amongst the alpine mountains and Fir trees. Also, if I spoke German.

Funny coming from an Egyptian!! Egyptians are only allowed to work as street newspaper vendors, and are treated like disposable garbage by Austrians. It is the people that make a country beautiful, and not visa versa.

When the narrator was talking about Saltzburg, he didn't say anything much or more about "The Sound of Music" which is supposed to be part of the history there. And that's what makes that city popular too. But he did mentioned the movie Cinderella so I give him props on that. Above all, this informative video is good and makes it more inviting to go there to visit Europe.

+Saint Diego It depends what you are interested for and what temperature you like. For sightseeing best is from May till Oktober, skiing in winter or also on the glaciers in summer. In summer in can be hot in the towns.

One comment from below stated, "Austria seems okay"! My dear girl, open your eyes! Maybe you should watch it again and try not to get distracted. I was born in Steyr and my mother worked as a chambermaid in the hotels of Salzburg before the War. I've been back several times. Look up the German word "Kunst"; there are few places in the world that has brought out such a mastery of music and the arts. Just look at the interior designs of the churches, secular humanism doesn't inspire such genius, but man created in the image of God. Yes I'm talking about Catholicism, and I'm afraid that this form of Christianity has also shown a very unbiblical side, yet if one discounts the "War Years" of the turn of the last century you would be hard pressed to find a country with as much brilliance of intellect and imagination.
