So a very common fault on BMWs is A0AA stored in the Car Access System. Can cause an annoying light and Bing noise or even non start. Usually this is a software issue pertaining to current draw (wear in components making them work harder was not taken into consideration at the programming stage)
Anyway this is how you can carry out a reset using an Autel system. It's not as obvious as you might think or like, but it works so they can be forgiven.
I would like to say thank you to anyone who watches my videos and sincerely hope they help you in some way.

Top top lad, thank you mate. 5 year old video, almost 10 versions newer in the Autel OS, and the item was in a different location, but you've saved me so much agro! It was under: Keys & Immob (where you went to, to show it WASN'T gonna work), it has now got the Reset ELV Fault Counter option! Thanks mate

sir, i want to thank you 🙏🏻 we have a 328i parked for almost a year, we are not very familiar with bmw engineering, but we changed the steering wheel and followed this video and finally is running, i was gonna junk it for real jajajajaja

Hi there, I think this is the best video for this issue. Question though, the CAS is an actual part? Can any computer fix this issue? I’m searching over and over and don’t seem to get an answer on that.

Just had the same problem on a Mini cooper 1.6, 2007. I manage to clear the fault with my old Autel. Thanks for the tip on doing a manual selection.

Hello my friend, I have the same problem, they reset the counter of the elv and cas, at first it only worked for me a few days later it appeared again, I have taken it to the same workshop and they did the same procedure again only this time they could not manage to erase the warning light of the steering wheel with the lock in red and sometimes it turns on and sometimes it doesn't. Any ideas I can do? Help 🙏🙏 .

Hi, Adam, could you please help me?, i am a mechanic with some mechanical knowledge. I have launch latest tools as well. Now i am facing the elv issues with my 2008 e60 520d. The same thing happened about 5 years ago and the stealer took almost £ 800 from me and just changed the battery. They left the car without doing anything, saying under diagnosis and stolen all my money. Now again after long time the problem came up again. When the problem begins, the 12v cigarette lines stays on, also the brake lights stays on too. I think this is because i turned off the car while the brake is on as how we stop the car usually. Couple of times i got the elv error but in orange. This time i managed to get some codes from CAS, which is A0BE, A0BF, A0C0 TERMINAL 15 OUTPUT 1 2 AND 3. I guess the ELV counter is inhibiting the CAS to turn on. Please help. I have that K-CAN cable, but no software. If u can give me a suggestion, that's great. I live in Bromley, London. @@Scorpioouuss Hey man! Actually yes, my mechanic ran an update on the CAS and then reprogrammed it with the INPA Software. Be aware that the rest of the modules in the car need to be free of errors and that if the reprogramming fails it means that the CAS will need to be replaced or fixed. If you have any error stored in the ECU then you just need to get someone to perfom the update and reprogramming with the WINKFP Software that allows you to reprogram individual components.

@@alvarosanchez1351 that’s great! Thank you so much for the reply, I am glad it worked for you. Will try to do an update with ISTA today and will clear all errors with INPA and Winkfp, hopefully it works, if not - I found an emulator in my area for $15.
