Hey!! New fan here! I'm so glad you guys decided to bunk up with the Maass family because that's how I found out about your family. I have a 9 year old son with autism so it's really nice to see families such as yours, share the good and the not so good. I have a lot of catching up to do with your videos but I'm excited about it. The first video I watched, was about you guys being asked to leave at vidcom and it was heartbreaking to watch. I went through something similar (on a much smaller scale) for our first time being asked to leave somewhere because of my son and his singing/humming stim. We are at a children's library "children's!!" And he was happily humming to himself while picking out books. He can only read a handful of words but he loves to look at and mostly carry and sleep with lol books! You would think at a children's library it would be ok and he was only around 5 or 6 at the time. I had no words when I asked to leave because it totally caught me off guard so I had to take him out as he cried the whole way because all he wanted was to check out books. I could barely contain my own tears until we got out the door while all eyes were on us! The next day, the person who runs the library called to apologize after they heard what happened and invited us back for a special tour and music time all for him! Any how, I'm sorry that happened. Your daughter is the cutest and I personally love her singing :) I'm glad to have found you and I can't wait to follow your story. Thank you for sharing your family with all of us!

You really are, it’s tough having a typical kid, but it has to be the hardest to have an atypical child. You do twice the work. Hang on, the teen years are going to be rough. Random ?....I follow another family that has a child with Down syndrome. Would ABA therapy be beneficial to her? She is home schooled. It’s actually the Knorpp and South family (I know I spelled that wrong)....they adopted a child with DS, the way they explained her disability and “issues” is very similar to non verbal autism.
