It has to be virtually impossible. if your army is pure melee vs pure melee then auto resolve shouldn't be effected by ambush as much imo

⁠⁠⁠@@bdemar2k12Melee ambushes are a perfectly viable strategy and would absolutely give an advantage to a smaller force fighting a larger enemy. Warfare is based on deception and the amount of damage a small elite force can inflict with guerrilla tactics is nothing to scoff at. Imagine you just lost a regiment of soldiers to a regiment of charging bears you never even saw coming and try to organize an effective rally and counterattack against an intimidating enemy whose forces you have no knowledge about. It’s not so easy when you put it into perspective.

not really. In the early game they kill each other but in late game with all the tech and buffs against chaos tzar guard wins easily

@@adamhadamcik385you are forgetting that khorne can upgrade and have tech too. The difference is they are more focus on improving raw combat stats. While kislev is improving buildings, armies, growth, etc. by mid or late game those khorne armies would murder you. Sorry bro.

Legend was streaming today and went up against an army maybe about the same size as the khorne army (but it was norsca) with only a level 4 lord or something... heroic victory on the autoresolve. Something ain't right.

It's when you play on legendary difficulty. Autoresolve assumes you are Legend of Total War and shows you an accurate result.

I think the autoresolve is calculating the combat as though you are cycle charging the bears and BAREly taking any damage in combat.

I had a garrison of khorne lvl 1 in a port town near the purple minor dwarfs that must have been bugged because it kept beating 2x 20stacks of pirates and dwarfs. Sometimes auto resolve makes 0 sense. Each of my bloodletters get like 900-1000 kills in auto resolve.

I mean bloodletters have good stats on paper for a melee brawl, and the devs I’m pretty sure have openly stated that a “home field advantage” or rather defenders of a location get a small advantage for auto resolves.

I got one of these against the skaven. It was one dwarf generic lord, 2 dwarf warriors and 3 rifle units against like 1 and a half Skaven stacks with tons of heroes "Heroic Victory" "Hmmm. Yep, I'll just go ahead and auto resolve that" *click*

I think auto resolve for this was so low that it went full circle to heroic victory, i sometimes have this happen when i have a LL sitting in an empty garrisson and 2 20 stacks come up and just disintigrate before the walls

I had a lvl 1 cathay garrison, which is like 500 troops or so and mostly peasant spearmen, auto resolve and absolutely wipe a full Clan Eshin stack which had lots of clanrats and skavenslaves. Each peasant unit had like 3-400 kills lmfao.

On the opposite side a lot of Defeats can be won quite easily... that's why you should always accept auto victory resolve but unless clear match ups, try to play most of "defeats"

Ogres once had 1 unit of gnoblars 1 hero and the army leader against a garrison of dwarfs. The auto resolve said its a loss, but fighting that battle was just crush the gnoblars in 2 sec and then just swarm the hero

Was playing a game with my buddy earlier today, and autoresolve was screwing my army as grimgor. An enemy army of half ogre bulls half gnoblars against a 50/50 split of big'uns and goblins archers was a crushing defeat. I broke them in under a minute.
