Does the upper cover have to be removed in order to take off the bottom cover? I ask because I'm only changing the crankshaft sensor which is under the lower timing belt cover.

2 It is better to take off the cover

One thing I don't get is....why do you need to mark the old timing belt that's being replaced? Rather than lining up the timing marks on the gears, seems like a waste of time to do this, just saying.✌

Once the entire front part was opened to change the timing belt it was for you to change the other small belt that is located just behind the timing belt, it does not make sense the way you "work", it is a clear way of stealing from the owner by not warning him that once everything is open, it is necessary to change both belts as well as you changed the temperer and the "crazy" fixed filming... I am sure that what you installed it you kept for yourself, so there are many "mechanics", who only see the way to bleed the customer...in short, the entire kit has to be changed, in this case the 2 internal belts, temperer, fixed bearing, water pump, rocker cover gaskets, seals (all) and from there everything together until the change is due again, following what the manufacturer orders...it is not necessary to mark any gear, etc...well I see what you lack, firstly sincerity towards the customer and then the rest.
