Since this is based on the Stelvio, it would be awesome if Stellantis made the Stelvio and Giulia electric, based on the Grecale. I would insta buy an electric Giulia!

@@marksapollo Since 2018, just a water pump leaked within warranty time. Replaced for free. No other issues, dealers can be expensive since Alfa and Maserati uses the same service center. So I’d say it’s better than my old Mazda6 which had a faulty transmission!

@@haoruchen4216 Interesting, I like the look of the car and second hand you can find some bargains. Just wasn't sure about the old Alfa reputation. I have a 2013 Fiesta ST and want to change get it for something more or prestige bigger but doesn't cost much more to run.

Why is the MC20’s twin turbo Nettuno V6 detuned for use in the Grecale Trofeo? I believe one reason was so it would be better suited to a car like the Grecale, given the MC20’s higher-revving nature and peakier power and torque curves wouldn’t have been the best fit for a car like this.

That heating display looks ridiculous. Whoever thought that was a solution was looking for a problem that doesn't exist. But at least Maserati has a long history of building reliable electronics 🤣 Probably a great car though and I think the interior looks excellent.

The main issue with a digital HVAC/Radio system is its longevity. I car at this price should have the ability to be reviewed in 30 or 40 years as a fantastic classic. Alas, that bottom screen will probably be described instead of viewed when that time comes.

There's something about this car that just screams that it's made on a budget and being passed off as expensive. You just know it has that "press a little too hard on an interior bit and it creaks like a barn door" energy. Great review though!

Too bad about the weather. Pity that so much attention in focused on the infotainment, due to the weather. Agree on the silly lack of real buttons (thanks for the Stelvio!). The driving experience is so much more important. And that happens at the very end. Just a friendly remark on the pronounced versions: Mó-dena (not modéna), Trofé-o (not tró-feo).

Looking good Brian, you must have spent some time in the gym…. Good review but personally I’d have the Macan GTS over this. Also the Macan EV is getting a dedicated platform and architecture not this compromise. The famous trident clock disappearing doesn’t look right. I love the Maserati brand, but they haven’t got their SUVs right IMO.

keyed shifting leaver is stupid. with a physical leaver you can just shift with your eye close. not worrying pressing the wrong buttons

As a start, please tune in to what the animal leather industry tried to do here with our channel: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pLaPdtl90ceqnH0.html In general, depending on the animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat would be the reason no.1 in other cases, the hide remains one of the most profitable body parts. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you accept it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and destroys the environment, you make them more profitable. Also, if you turn the argument around "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize how biased the argument is. After all, would you care for which body part you would murdered? Or imagine someone robs you on the street and beats you to death - would it matter to you if it was for your Smartphone or for your purse? The animal agriculture industry occupies 2/3 of all farm land on this planet which cannot be used for direct human nutrition then. That is extremely inefficient. The no.1 cause for deforestation is the animal industry. It is also one of the biggest contributor to climate change. The amount of land, resources, energy and water being used is beyond imagination. If you are interested in how the animals are being treated and transported in the global leather industry, watch this footage: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qtGadqSe1pfDaHk.html Note that the footage is genuine and was recorded by a highly decorated investigative journalist in Germany I know myself personally. For the alternative, you can either use artificial fabrics which can be made from recyclables (we have already shown a lot of vehicles that use great fabric seats from PET-bottles etc.) or more and more also from plant-based materials (like Pinatex). And even if you would create a seat completely with petroleum without a recycling share, the amount of oil being used for that is nothing in comparing just to once fueling up your car. In practical reasons, fabric or microfibre seats are just more useful. You do not sweat in summer and it is not cold in winter. And there are also new leatherette materials available which are superior in every aspect: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/q59kjLt7nJi5hHU.html Using animal skin on seats is a major issue of animal rights, human rights - and after all just of common sense what is better both for the environment and just more practical and more luxurious for the customer. We cannot change what we have bought in the past (that also counts for ourselves of course!), but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.

Definitely prefer the Stelvio QV compared to this. Not a fan of the awkward proportions/looks of this Grecale. Still not clear why Maserati dragged its feat on this rebadged Alfa. Zero interest in an electric Maserati

Looks like they threw a Maserati Symbol on the front of a 2020 Kia Sportage. The front headlights look like it wants to mimic a Porsche Cayenne. Maserati needs to Hire someone who can get a little more Creative. I bet it drives nice either way.

The front is just some kind of tragedy. Looks like a stupid fiat 500 crossover or the new ford puma. Maserati, you design with blindfolded eyes? How come you forgot about the Alfieri front design? It was perfect
