This product was never designed to be used by machine Matt, it is drying out and becoming difficult to remove. It does not contain the ingredients required to keep it workable by machine, it is not a failing of the product, you are just using it in a way it was never designed to be. Either use it by hand, or even better use Super Resin Polish instead. That can be applied by machine or by hand, and it will never dry hard, or become stubborn to remove. You could put it on at 9 am and provided you have not plastered on a thick layer it will still be easy to remove at 5pm.

Thankyou for the advice. I did assume that was the case as i polished the rest of the car in my garage the day after and it was no different. Next time i machine polish i will use the super resin polish. Ill stick to using the deep shine with the hand applicator 😁

@@Fortlox_ btw the super resin polish will not cut your paintwork at all like polish should it will shine your paintwork but not cut it.

ive used the product by hand and its the worst ive used. sticky and very difficult to wipe off. I cant believe i wasted $54 for a bottle of this crap

Autoglym I have a black focus with a few light scratches here and there would you advise ultra deep shine then after its wiped off dry and another coat with super resin polish to protect it and use a polish applicator by hand in a circular motion on both bottles ?

Matt it’s only meant to be used by hand polishing it’s not a cutting agent 👍

Matt before you put polish on your pad spray some water on the pad of your machine it helps and start machine slow then move the speed up to about 4 doing a cross hatch pattern 👍

I've read the other comments Matt and there is one thing you should always do is read the instructions, shake well before use is on the majority of Autoglym products, I'm a massive Autoglym fan owning all of the products, but good on you in keeping your car in great condition.

Hi David. From memory there isnt anything on the bottle that states not for use with machine polishers but theres also a strong chance i didnt see it 😄 you live and learn

I've used it with a machine on oxidized paint,no problems for me. Paint is slowly getting back to how it should be.

I fully agree but even the twinZ rear diffuser is going to cost me £700 by the time its shipped to UK

My resin polish was runny at the top, but thick at the bottom. Give it a good shake.

It's a great polish when applied by hand but not designed for a polisher unfortunately. SRP is great for polisher or the Meguiars polish

The megs stuff is loads better than the autoglym stuff as it does what a polish should do the autoglym won't cut the paintwork at all. Its still a good product but I think they should of named it something other than polish

I know your a autoglym guy but try turtle wax polish and wax hybrid solutions with your polishing machine it doesn’t dry and it’s easy to clean off 👍

Not being funny but why not use the garage ? ……… I used this the other day found shine was fantastic and swore I’d buffed all the polish out but today all kinds of polish marks have shown up buffed again and seems fine

Garage is too dark for polishing. Did you use the same polish as me with a machine polisher?

Hey matt, i think you answered your own question.. you did nothing wrong except polishing the car in sunlight from what i can see. Ive used that product myself and it does dry hard real quick in low temps. Dampening the buffer pad can help to keep the polish softer for longer.. Or polish in the evening as the suns going down. Great video though Matt.. 👍

Thanks mate. Im learning as i go along so give it a few months and i should be on point with the electric polisher. That was the first time ive used one on the Z. Only ever used one on a landy defender which is a bit more (who cares) attitude lol

I am no expert either matt, ive always polished by hand but i know feom using a hand polish applicator that they recommend damping it down before adding the polish to the pad. Ive never been brave enough to use an electric polisher on my cars, mainly because i could never afford a high end one with the fail safe mechanism to stop you burning the paint. One day i might invest, but i keep on doing it the hard way until then.. i call it therapy 🤣 usually ends up with me feeling like i meed physio pherapy after lol

Dragon boneman you don’t need an expensive polisher to be paint safe, just get yourself a dual action polisher. The only way you’re going to damage your paint with those is to flip it over and beat your car with it!

Matt, you have that lovely garage space, why bring it outside to polish? With the right lighting, you’ll also have much better visibility of the defects that you’re removing inside and out of the daylight.

I usually wash the car after 2pm in the spring or early morning summer time last thing you want is smearing as it needs washing first to remove dirt

I do think the Title should be changed to, HOW NOT TO APPLY AUTOGLYM ULTRA DEEP SHINE. Autoglym do show video's of every product and how to apply them to your car, obviously Matt you have not done your research. Massive fail.
