My fav way to start is get enough to run the lvl 1 harvester only, no miner and set up conveyor in a way to allow me to shovel dirt chunks directly onto the belt, this way I don't even need the pick and just dig away. Profits are unimaginable once you set up the sorting systems and auto smelter

This is an excellent beginners video because I have uses techniques and they work very well and on that one site I made 40,000 coin with a three tier 1 drill set up and enough belts and smelters to get me what I need it. Now I'm onto my second site and as it stands right now I'm just about ready to start my nine drill set up with the next level pipes and hopefully soon have enough to expand it even further. I'm looking forward to them expanding the game to increase the difficulty on getting stuff and moving up to the next tier above tier 2. I also highly recommend this gentleman's videos because he will learn a lot about the game and his explanations are clear and concise. Hybirdsteel thank you very much for creating this video because you have been extremely helpful to me and I will continue to follow your work. Plus the video you did about auto repair was also extremely helpful and I love it and thank you again for that as well.

I just started this game and im loving it, im not sure how 1.0 was but this 2.0 is super fun. What i decided to do was just have 3 harvesters in starter place with 1 dirt breaker machine and 4 sorters that smelt/compress gems automaticially, all i have to do is just check it every 10min for breakdowns. what im doing is saving enough for bigger plot(which im sure i have plenty for lol) and plenty of coins to outright buy all the stuff i need for next plot.

Tip-At 10:00 you dont have to dump ores into another bucket, the bucket does not fill up with ores they all stack/phase into each other at bottom but some ores will just bounce out everynow and then, just pick them up and put them back into the bucket, having 2 buckets is not needed

yep but if you accidently settle a shovel of dirt ontop of a gemstone in a full bucket you get a ball of dirt ontop of your bucket.. it has happened to me a few times.

I’ve recently gotten the game. And instead of dealing with the much higher expense of the standard sorters early on. I just had a handful of those hand sorters staircased. Yes I did need 2 conveyors to gain the height needed to feed into it. But it saved me a fair bit while I just let it do it’s thing.

What i did was just earned enough for like 8 pipes, place pipes so water is dripping near kinda middle of plot, dig straight down where the water is dripping- place a bucket at bottom of plot where water is driping and bam. Just leave bucket there and shovel dirt from beside bucket(which is at bottom of starting plot and brush it. Do that for like 15min then sell the ores. Buy 3 Crucible and 1 Furnace. Now go shovel dirt for 15min more but this time take bucket to top and sort all the ores into your 3 crucibles(put iron into 1, gold into another, and power shards into other. Now just smelt them sepperatly and you should have anough for more stuff you need and you can probably even buy a iron drill to then automate the shoveling (just place bucket where dirt chunks falls out and where water drips) so all you have to do its just brush--EDIT-- Just watched like half way throu and i realized i described what you did lol

I appreciate this vid. Just got to this point and made my first drill and harvester at Icehelm. Could you do a vid at somepoint on Icehelm beyond of the Forge(your explanation in another vid helped explain the Forge itself). I don't understand the signs.

I just reinstalled and am having a blast. I skipped the handsorter though, I played around with it a little and it's way too chaotic for me. Saved up for tiny conveyor setup with 2 splitters for gold and iron, they very rarely miss the pan.

Please do a video on carts and how to use them. I was using a pallet for so long, but it doesn’t allow items to clip like they do in the cart or truck.

I did go to fishing when i had enough. Got enough to buy the forge and crucible then went back to digging again. I'm now working to doing something similar to what you've built. But as a plus i've gotten all of the fishing rods up to the Master one.

I prefer fishing for the first hour or so get about 4k get what I need then start automating. Slightly bummed the hand sorters get stuff stuck in them and why do they shoot the sorted item out so far? I had 3 hand sorters no belts yet. Maybe with belts it will improve

@@Hybridsteel yea after I added it up I spent About 4k getting everything I had not exact science. All I know is I had 3.5k from fishing at one point and 3.5 k from the automation. Like I said I rather just fish instead of the mundane shovel, brush over and over. After that it's about the gold not the fish.

You're on top ! I just start the game 3 days ago and try from scratch. I spent a lot of time and money to make something weird and not efficient. I'll start a new save and apply your awesome tutorial ... I need to dig deep in my english to understand all of your tips and there is some things I haven't understood 1 / the pickaxe is used to dig your cave right ? 2 / Why did you take the hourglass in creative ? hope my questions aren't too stupid but I'm more fluent to write english than heard it ... sorry

yes the pickaxe is to dig deep its the quickest way unless u can dig faster with the rake but that involves using the rake and the pick and u will get a straighter tunnel the hourglass is because i dont like the night cycle so i pause the cycle so i can always have day time.. also helps for making videos so i dont have to keep adjusting the screen and having to sleep the night cycle just to show something else in a video

just so you can buy 'quicker' use the Cart and place it on the buying plate, then grab something and put to in there. It'll be 'stuck' and you can place more items on it without having to buy 2 separate batches and then move everything out of the buying area, in bridgepour you can do it with the truck!

You can just leave the pan in the river and brush it after putting dirt in the pan. That’s how I “speedrun” the beginning of the game.

fishing shop also has filters so you dont need to go all the way over to the town ... unless thats where you meant with the wave of the camera lol

So, video idea--I can't get my filter repair system working. With a pipe filter on the top of the pipe, either the detector or spanner tosser can be pointed to it, but not both. With the previous iteration of the game, with dedicated filter pipes, this kind of circuit was easy since the whole pipe was the filter. Now...hmmm, not so much. I'm half thinking I'll just set up auto repair of machines, but....meh. :D

Well, *think* i figured it out. try using the flip logic thing in the store, and use a reader to show you what the values are before and after. have the fixer pointing directly at the filter you want to fix. Had to turn my brain on a bit, but think it's going to work. :)

I figured it out. Point the detector at the SIDE of the pipe, filter on top of pipe, spanner pointing down at the filter. Hook up the two with logic cables and stick an inverted on one of the pipes BEFORE YOU FILL THE SPANNER THROWER. 😀

@@dragoniv lol, yeah emptied quite a few spanners myself messing around. Had to do one to each filter, since3 they're all getting damaged regardless of order; I remember doing only the first one in prior versions. :)

Hybrid have a possible question you might use in a video are your rewards better if you just keep your drill at the surface but use dirt from a lower level for the drill that way you can get first tier automation a little sooner without spending extra on conveyer belts or does the game realize that you are at the surface no matter what dirt you use

i did the same setup at the surface i put that piece of dirt in the middle of the boxe ( i bring it from the low level ) it work just fine u get bigger nuggets as u r using the drill at the bottom

at the moment u can either use pickaxes, dynomite, barrel explosives or nukes... i mean nukes make a big hole but their 26 grand each or u go into creative mode and get them for free

So, I've got the level 2 shovel and pickaxe, but I've reached the limit of how deep I can go and I haven't hit bedrock. I'm at Dreck's Quarry. Are there tier 3 tools, do I have to use dynamite, or am I glitched? Great video BTW.

at the moment t3 tools dont exist so its there to annoy you.. nukes and explosive should go thorugh t3 but if you setup down there u wont be able to mine anything as as soon a su put dirt on the lower floors it will instantly be coded to t3 dirt and u wont be able to mine it

Is it more efficient to put one "shovel-full" of dirt into the pan? I used to fill buckets with 4 "shovel-full" then empty them into the pan.

@@Hybridsteel I was actually going to ask the same. Personally I don't remember where I learned it from but I fill a bucket and empty it, then do it again and mash the two clumps of dirt together to be what I believe is the largest size clump you can make, and then manually dump that into the pan. It definitely makes the manual digging phase go faster, but I'm not sure if I get the same return or not. Might be worth testing at the same time what happens when that 2-bucket clump hits an empty bucket and fills it (thus becoming another 1-bucket-sized clump) if I've somehow lost resources to the ether or if you can infinitely compress resources into a single clump of dirt by repeating the process.

Im curious, if i dig all the way down and just bring some of that soil to top of the ground. Would that still work? Or the drill actually need to be deep under? Cause that would save so much time?

no that wont work. the dirt will get the properties of the place u put it so it becomes that tier dirt

Question: just started my first game and I put the mud straight into the pan. Didn’t know I had to put it in the bucket first. But the pan got results with just 1 shovel. But the bucket needs 4 shovels before you put it into the pan. So is the bucket better than the 1 shovel? Second question: Are you sure? Third question after listening to you explaining how each shovel is adding value to the dirt: Are you really sure?

so yes putting dirt into a pan will get you reward.. second answer and third answer... after doing this on various live streams with people claiming things yes i can be very sure that adding a bucket of dirt to a pan will get the same reward as the 1 shovel fuill into a pan.. reason why is because........................ the reward comes from the dirt you dig not how much you put into a container the reason why i put buckets into pans comes down to habbit and moving that dirt from the bottom to the top is just 1 step. after i have done X amount into bucket to pan i never use a bucket again

Wait, I've just watched the expanded starter video for 2.0 and you say the tier 2 shovel doesn't do anything faster it just digs the second level of dirt. I didn't think the first plot had any tier 2 dirt, so when you say around 7:00 to go buy the t2 shovel if you want to go faster, what do you mean?

i thik what i was thinking at the time was go get the t2 shovel and get a plot with t2 soil. but honestly i recorded this a few weeks ago so i dont fully know now.. i have bee requested to see the difference between t1 and t2 shovels and pickaxes to see if there are any difference's so ill have to see now.... hoestly iv cofused myself with this now thanks for pointing this out

@@Hybridsteel No worries, and not to preempt the video but I restarted a save recently after buying the rake and a tier 2 shovel. The shovel seems to just be the exact same shovel except it lets you dig tier 2 dirt, and the rake leveling out dirt to a height that didn't match the flooring you can place (because nothing sits flat) was so different that I had to jump on and off of my concrete slabs.

at the mo iv recorded 3 videos of the one si feel that needed to be covered.. so mildew due to the massive changed max put in. icehelm and snowrune. once they are sorted then i will move on to covering south hope and dreck as they i dont think have changed

You can use the sorter to sort out multiple items, I just wish i wasn't banned on steams discussion crap for disrespecting a user : / ay if i could i'd apologize, but I honestly hope maxx brings out a actual excavator one that'll run on water obviously but we cannot actually "Mine" that much dirt and I feel like the automation is to "Lazy" because you're not actually mining the dirt around you. Just my opinion : /

@Hybridsteel What does the water hook filer do and is it worth buying 10 of them to add to starting plot pipes?(i have done changed all my pipes to cloudium pipes) also it says max 10. does that mean water quality can be increased to a max of 10 or i can have 10 on 1 pipe network?

the filter hook when u have 5 of them cleans water so machines dont get damaged but filters need repairing due to hard water

Can you get a shovel full of dirt from the bottom and put it underneath the drill on the surface and get the same benefit? update: I went into creative mode and tested the above theory and yes you can just go get the dirt and put it on a block from deep and then turn on the drill. You do get the value of the dirt even though it's being drilled on the surface.

Is there a reason as to why there are two “sights” on screen, the prominent blue one for grabbing stuff and the other one for dropping stuff? I’m finding this to be more annoying and unintuitive than helpful.

I've got a couple of beginner questions if anyone can help 1. How do you dig really straight lines like I've seen in your videos? 😆 2. If I dig lower level dirt (say 5 blocks deep) and put it under a drill that is on the top level, will that act as low level 5 dirt under the drill or top level dirt? If that makes sense haha Thanks

so clean lines comes from using the rake and when it comes to dirt its normally where its mined from is the value of the dirt. but its a question thats been asked more than once so ill do a video to explain it better

the dirt quality is represented by where it is not where it came from, so if you place it at the top it becomes top level dirt

how do you add fuel to the trucks?

grab a pan and fill it with water then tip it on the top of the truck or setup a pipe line to fill up the top

nope it works on 1 bit of dirt

@@Hybridsteel Thanks, before 2.0 there was something that created dirt, but yeah it looks like they removed it and make "infinite" dirt but with the obvious drawbacks of your time to increase the production.

i think ur doing it wrong get a intake pipe and a t section at the start for auto drip filling ur pans as u shovel dirt into them

thats what i did just with 1 pipe... i mean if i wanted to do it properly i could use as many as u liked and have loads dripping into loads of pans... but i choose to do 1 for demo purposes in guides so anyone can make their build how they like. also if you get to 9:52 i was underground drip feeding a pan and doing this..... for the ultimate record iv been doing this since version 1.2

Does the dirt tier still work if I dig the dirt with a shovel and put it under the drill on a surface level?

if you move dirt from anywhere else and take it to top level then the soil becomes that teir soil so t2 becomes t1 and visa versa

You get a refund from making the drill if you’re over 300 no need to cut them

発売されてから数年経つと言うに、steamの実績解除では達成度がどれもレア。 プレイ人口はかなり多いはずなのに、そのような形ということは、MOD導入してたりクリエイティブでプレイしてる人が多いからだろう。 確かにかなりの労力が必要なゲームではあるが・・・。

yeah if you start using mods or creative mode then it locks off the achievements making you only able to unlock them in vanilla.. its something im slowly burning through.

Sry but this is a freakin Joke ,i see u enjoying the Game and i cant even play it ,on the first Claim everything works,but as soon i go on another ,nothing works anymore,cant even dig with a shovel (and YES i tried both in creative even there it wont work)...i cant use the rake ,cant shut of the washplant....it realy feels to me that there are two different Gameversions ,where some can and some cant play this Game (even if i made it up,it feels like that) ! And no im not hating ,cuz i see YTbers who had a Issue just like that ,only in a "lighter" version so that they are able to dig but as they put it on the Ground the dirt is gone ,they can use pickaxes but i cant at all! What kind of a Joke is it ?! The old version worked ,this is not!

so when u have been diging have you got the tier 2 shovel and pickaxe as there are tier levels of dirt u can only dig to certain depths until u have the tier 2 equipment it means u havnt learnt there are different tiers of dirt so things only work at certain depths
