I appreciate that you keep the message consistent. Hour guides are consistent and only guides. The game is great because there is not a wrong way to do it. All the plots are good or even great in different ways.

Mildew is and will always be my home away from home. Small is great when you have a potato PC like mine and it is midway between the shops. Until recent mods made distance completely irrelevant this was a big deal to me. I may change it up and move to Ice Helm because it is technically the closest to a shop. But those stairs are the WORST.

I gotta agree, even in the latest version, it’s all you’ll ever need, it has all the tiers of dirt, and the only stuff you need to do is dig down and build.

The problem for me is that the plot prices are irrelevant, even with one T1 drill you get that amount quickly if you want to move. Wish this could be balanced somehow, like various amounts of each ore in the different places (such as Icehelm offering more cloutium) or stuff like that - something that motivates you to expand and/or try the different places. But that's just my 2 cents. Regardless, thanks for another great video! Really like your "uncut" style of narrating while playing and being personable and open.

I agree that the plot prices don’t lead you to see much of a clear progression. I wouldn’t mind if drek and mildew remained similarly priced but then southhope and the other two plots cost like 90k-200k. Let people know those are tier 3 plots for expanded builds. Then again part of the beauty of the game is that it is very open for everyone to explore in a way they like and is not very railroady.

@@Hybridsteel if there is a rebalance of the rewards for T1 and T2 soil that may help some. But the overall economy just doesn’t make any sense.

not really.. but u do have to dig a bit deeper for cloutium now to setup a drill line to get it.

honestly. unpopular opinion of mine. I believe money should be completely removed and everything should be tradable/craftable with resources (iron gold cloutium)

Your videos have always been very helpful, and knowledge invaluable. I left the game about a year after it came out, then discovered your vids about 2 months ago and saw how much had changed with version 2.0 and hooked me back in. Your setup and equipment information got me into Tier 1 and 2 below ground builds pretty quickly. The Mods in this game really changed things for the better and tasks easier with less hassle. Two big thumbs up mate for everything you've done for all gamers.

that means a lot and im glad u have rediscovered this game.. in its current version 2.0 everything works better than before.. and there is a patch coming out very soon that fixes a lot of the under lying problems right now. i did a live stream a few days ago with all info and no have more to do from myside of things as well. but again im glad u have found hydroneer once more.

You may find Icehelm dark. On my side while you were in there, the lighting was just fine for a video. Now I have a good setup. So maybe that is the difference. Not saying others dont have great setups, just some may not have the graphics I have. I may be fully wrong. I just think if you did a vid in there. It would turn out just fine. Thank you for your honesty with everything. You are an awesome content creator. Glad I found your channel.

I went to Icehelm in my first game for the reasons you mentioned. The forge and store are close by and I what was important to me is that you don't have to dig down. I currently have 60 drills running at 55-60 FPS which is not bad for my computer. After the update to 2.0.6 I will probably start over and will move after Ember Cradle maybe to Dreck Quarry or South Hope. I'm not sure about that yet.

Hybrid I would still go to south hope and I'll always go to south hope for my home away from home and when u took off the flying cap u almost made it bounce into the back of the truck

Cloutium main if ur using drills is 2 squares into the claim

Mildew is certainly the cheapest which is a consideration if you are focusing on a T3 setup because water is readily available close to where your drills are. Since T3 pipes cost tokens instead of H coins, it can cost you a decent bit to pipe water from the surface of other mine sites down to the bottom of T3 dirt where your drills are (even if mining tokens are quite a bit less time consuming to accrue than farming tokens are I feel like this is still a consideration worth making). It is a smaller area though, but i quite like Mildew for that reason. Even though it is odd shaped and not as big as it first appears on the surface, I have been able to fit huge T2 drill setups down there (Over 100 T2 drills easily). I think i prefer Dreck Quarry though because of that ramp which makes it really easy to drive a mole and hydro roller down there to develop it quickly and nicely, and also because the T2 and 3 areas are just so huge. Running pipes down there for T3 is gonna cost a little bit to do, but what you are getting for that extra little bit of token farming you gotta do is super worth it in my opinion.

My current playthrough, I'm on phase 4 (mass tier 1 mining), and I just finished the pipe and conveyor layout for 160 tier 1 drills in a indoor mine.

Phase 1: mining with hand tools only Phase 2: small scale tier 1 mining Phase 3: addition of automated sorting and smelting Phase 4: mass tier 1 mining Phase 5: addition of tier 2 mining Phase 6: mass tier 2 mining Phase 7: addition of tier 3 mining Phase 8: mass tier 3 mining

As much as I'd enjoy a nice big plot of land to build on, the limitation ofr me in this game has always been tedium of getting the parts to build things. So I settled in Ice Helm to have a pocket shop for 95% of what I need right there. If I could easily buy and transport 100 pipes, conveyors, foundations and so on at a time without it taking an hour to just buy them, yeah, a nice big open plot of land would be lovely...

if u didnt care about playing the game "legit" best thing to do is look at the f7 mod which is the mod to just teleport everything into the game and not go to the shop works for me if i wanted to free play

I'm new so might be overlooking something, but why is piping water an issue at Snowfalls and Quarry, but not at South Hope? Seems like youd have to pipe it just as far at South Hope as you would at Snowfall. Can you physically run out of water or something?

the reaosn why it sharder at snowfall and the quarry is just coz the watter supply is smaller and yes a su have to pipe out further you need to make sure the water is flowing in ur pipes in order to boost it.. once u got cloutium pipes and boosters u will b better off.

I'm new to the game, bought it around 3 or 4 days ago and now pretty good at settling at Ember Cradle ( living Underground XD). I'm thinking about moving to a new dig sight. First I'm thinking about building at Mildew's Aquifer; the size of that land is good enough for me, plenty of water. But then this one land surprise me the most, Icehelm, I didn't think you could buy such a crazy place, not to mention is in the mountain and next to a awesome Forge. So one question, seem Icehelm is so deep below, it is safe to assume that is deep enough for high value ore? Please I need some tip before I decide to move in.

all plots have t3 soil and all plots are basically the same depth aside from ember... icehelm works different the front of the plot is tier 1 soil the back of the plot because it works horizontal and not vertical the back of the plot is t3

This question is off topic from this video but its frustrating me so I wanted to ask. My shards keep glitching into my conveyor as they get carried up even when standing near it. I want to wall it off so it looks nice but I can't because i need to constantly pluck them out from inside my belts otherwise it will make a huge jam. Cleary its a bug but is there a fix to it? As it goes up my belt system goes from a flat belt to an incline belt, then flat, then incline etc. Maybe if I only use incline belts the whole way up without flat/straight conveyors? Thanks

they work the same way just horizontal so the front of the cave is tier 1 and then goes backwards towards the back wall

as hybridsteel said , forget auto-smelters , you have to keep repairing them and adding an auto-repair just means even more wiring...I do have a system that pauses the incoming belt, compresses my gems then re-starts the belt every 20 seconds, it was 'not easy' but not super complicated either.

As a new player. Whats the point? I mean if i have everything. Automate everything, make bilions.. what now? Is there and end game? Is there even a point of spend so much time in this game?

its a sandbox game the idea is to create the game how you want to play it. its an open ended game the joys of this game is the freedom to do what u like within the games ways. lots of people on the foulball hangover disocrd to chat to as there is a really good community behind it. and u build how you like. also dlc comes out soon with some new stuff being added.. see the trailer on the youtube channel. Its just one of those games that is just good to play.

@@Hybridsteel i like how you've put it but even minecraft has an end game of some sort. I've spend 20h in this game, i like it.. but damn its frustrating.. the controls are weird as hell, devs should do something about it. And i got a feeling if i've already made money to buy anything and everything its boring now.. i just dont like the pickaxe and spending 2h on digging a hole just so i can put some drills there and get the same stuff but bigger and worth a little more. 😅 And yeah i know there are nukes.. but even the rake should at least have an upgraded version that flattens 3x3.

nope all this has been through mass testing and through the community id say 99 percent of people now like how the game is even the discord now doesnt get many suggestions about things. this game isnt for everyone and originally built by just 1 person, i mean now theres more people working on it which means there will be more coming out. id probably say that out of everyone still playing the game though most only do about 20 to 50 hours then they move on. the people who continue to come back to it dont play constantly like we did when the game was brand new and had a ton of issues but we see a rotation of people in the discord every 6 to 8 months people just pick it back up and play for a bit longer. Its also why i started doing certain challenges like only selling Iron or only gold, theres also a discord section and the website where people do speed runs to certain goals.
