The sale of Manual car is particularly high in India. No other country encourages so much manual . We don't want to upgrade ourselves from our tradition. If it is going on for 50 years , so it has to go on in 51 year also. No one in today's world wants to make anything complicated hence Automatic gets sold so much outside. But yes in India atleast drive manual and adapt by 40%. I have driven both , hands down automatic is convenient more

Automatic cars are purely for convenience only. Being able to drive a manual car is a necessary skill and is cooler too.

I am lucky to have both. Hyundai i10 auto and a i10 grand manual. Automatic transmission is a breeze to drive. Smooth as silk. Manual is more fun in changing and engaging the gears. Auto is best for city traffic conditions, manual fun on highway with better control . .... To sum up. To each his own..

I think Manual transmission is best... You can play with your car

Thanks for bringing clarity. Automatic is good only when engine is more powerful with paddle shift and HA. Like VW polo, Vento , Hexa etc. Never worry about mileage, else it will be a pain for everyone.

I have a automatic car in UAE last 5 years i am using very smooth and easy to drive. Now i buy automatic car in india also. Very easy to drive as usual. But people are started telling why you brought automatic cars why you didn't buy manual something like that. Then i asked them " did you ever drive automatic car " they all used to say "No" someone said " 1 time i drive " Thats what they didn't like automatic cars. If someone drive couple of weeks automatic cars. They never buy manual i am damn sure about that....😎😎

On Highway, Manual Car is better for overtaking because you can downshift at required gear(depending on the load of car) to increase speed. Also, for comfort I think manual and auto cars are same on highway because you don't need to shift gear frequently. You can put your car on top gear and just need to press accelerator, same as automatic cars.

In cvt with pedal shifters you will hardly use them instead as in baleno there is L mode there with is suitable for hill area its lock the gears at 1st
