I am not into the technical aspects, but I have always felt the class and luxury of a car is only given by Sedan cars. Car jo hai wo sedan level ka cars badiya hota hai. Cars should not be huge like tempo, varna wo mazaa kahan. Actually SUV is basically not a car to be used in cities. Its good for long travels with more people etc. Unfortunately, in India cars are not taken on base of people's character. Its based on just funds, what is trendy and new and what others purchase, while actually cars should be purchased based on ones character.

Go with compact SUV . because most Indian roads are off roads....so u get better comfort

When you think about Elegance, Long car, Luxury,Comfortable ride, better road grip,Executive style --go for sedan.I am not talking about Compact Sedan. And when you are thinking rough and tough look, off road performance then go for SUV. But compact SUV are actually crossover of hatchback ,elevated platform,mix of sedan like luxury. The choice is yours. You can't compare the elegance and style of Bentley,Masserati,Audi,BMW.Mercedes,Jaguar,Skoda sedan with a SUV.

Benifits I got for an SUV ( even a raised platform vehicle) 1) Sitting straight is good for back 2) Tall passengers in backseat is better in SUV 3) Gets a good view of outside when you travel for tours 4) When you go for tour you may have to face very bad roads ,SUV wins 5) In Rain you can get into water logged areas , if you want to continue journey SUV gives hope ( India is not USA) 6) If your journey just in city with no long distance then Sedan is the best. 7 ) if you are the only driver with no passengers on a good highway only like in USA a sedan is good for driving pleasure. 8) Indian family conditions with old people for travel driving fun is not the only requirement 9) SUV can be used to carry more luggage in case it is required. 10) SUV gives a good stance , sedan is very small and do not look masculine. So if you get a good SUV at a cost of 16 to 18 lacs why go for a Sedan at same price or even close to that.

You are comparing a sedan with compact SUVs on space factor. Compare with proper SUVs like Safari, Scorpio, Endeavour, Fortuner etc. not with compact SUVs on space factor. Real SUVs are always more spacious than a sedan & obviously more comfortable.

He is forgetting main imp reason why people do not prefer sedan cars who are 6 feet tall specially Sikh people with turban cannot adjust are back seat in almost all the sedan cars.
