In this cake decorating tutorial, I will show you another way to use the sliced fondant technique, and this time I achieved a marble affect! I also wanted to use a modern fall color scheme. And why not throw in some chocolate leaves??

Mary , to stick the fondant onto a bc cake , is shortening good to use. I have a cake in July,weather wise its pretty warm. The cake will be outdoors too . Any advice for this. I dont want the fondant falling off.

If you are drapping it over the entire cake, I would not use anything. As the cake comes to room temp, there will be some condensation, and that should be enough. If you are paneling, I would probably spray it with a little water first, wrap it with the fondant, and then place it in the fridge.
