Thanks, worked great for me! I already had wire and solder, so I paid a total of $6 at radio shack for the 3.5 mm (1/8 inch) audio input (aux) and some tap-splice connectors that i used like you did right there at the XM radio. XM is very very faint when not on channel 0, so I use that channel when playing through phone and my XM still works just fine on all channels. Sweet!

yosemite98 because channel 0 turns the xm system on but leaves no audio, it's literally splicing right into the input from the xm radio, which is why you can still hear the xm system with the aux plugged in, you can even use that aux to connect to a portable speaker if your amp ever dies until you get it fixed. I don't see any point behind paying for xm radio

How did you have your bass and treble adjusted for this video? I have an 06 Sierra and 06 yukon both with the 5.3 and both dyno tuned; run great! I also put the Factory bose touch screen radios in them.

Hey I did this to my 05 Denali, works like a charm. Tried to do my husbands 04 Yukon, all I'm getting is humming noise. Could it be a bad ground ? Any suggestions?

michele mazie can't really say much. I think the 04 had issues with these things. I'd just replace the hu itself with one with a tape deck and CD (if you want CD) and use a tape aux adapter... Most of the stock hus can be interchanged between models based on having Bose amp, OnStar and steering wheel controls.

so I installed the wire exact same on my truck but I can't get out to work, I've pressed all the buttons n nothing makes it switch over to my phone

You need to be on channel 0 on XM radio. Also, you have to install the left/right on the brown/white and green/white (bottom left) and the ground on the black/white at the very bottom right corner. There is a black/white one above the correct one that I don't think works (according to other video posts).

Does this work if you actually use XM?
@gabeulrickson24966 жыл бұрын
thatismttruck yes, as long as you are on channel 0 which is a silent xm input on. The xm will still input and you could even connect the aux cord to a portable speaker if amp happens to die, you just won't have anything but the xm audio, hu will still control channel.

Hey man I am looking to do this to my 04 sierra, could you possibly give me a list of wires I would need to purchase....im not as versed in this stuff as you so i want to make sure I dont get into it and not be able to finish. Really appreciate it man
@gabeulrickson24966 жыл бұрын
Eric Sanino just a random 3 prong wire, 18 gauge is perfect. 3 18 gauge wires and a aux plug (3.5mm headphone jack)
@mttbear8 жыл бұрын
18 or 14 gage wire?
@gabeulrickson24966 жыл бұрын
Matthew Barrett doesn't really matter, aux inputs are so low in power just go with small wire, that's why there are flat aux cables, headphone output is very low
