Yuri, this is a fantastic video. I have done most of what you show, but manually in a text editor. Your Excel tool is awesome. I can’t wait to give it a try. I had never thought about MP not having a way to create clockwise spiral patterns, but like you, I want the pattern to be CCW anyway. The conversion from waypoints to polygon is going to be a big help. It seems easier to manipulate waypoints in MP than polygons. I usually use my command-line program to create my spiral pattern because I have it work from a waypoint file rather than a polygon file. But, MP does a better job with the pattern than my program, so I would prefer using it. Usually, I am just too lazy to edit the waypoint file and turn it into a polygon file. Your Excel tool is going to be so helpful! You hinted at it, but MP doesn’t care what waypoint numbers you have in a file or even if they are in order. It creates the waypoints sequentially as it reads in the lines, so it is OK for a file to have two waypoints with the same number or other such things. Interesting catch on the decimal values in the fences. All in all, just a super useful video and the new tool… can I say "awesome" again! I am going to have to watch this a few times to get it all, actually! Thanks!

I used your spreadsheet today to convert waypoints to polygon and a few other things in a waypoint file. It was a joy! Normally would have used a text editor with a block select mode to chop off the end of the lines to convert from waypoint to polygon. Your spreadsheet was so much easier. Thanks for sharing!

Hey Yuri, awesome job on the mower series. I really enjoy your videos. I have a question about how you use the Survey(Grid) function. How were you able to pre-save your setting? At 8:43 when you pulled up the Survey(Grid) "Advanced Options" was already selected then at 9:10 you tabbed over to Grid Options and "Distance Between Lines" was already set as well as the "Spiral" Selection. It seems Distance Between Lines is very importaint in determining if a small polygon shape will work in Survey(Grid).

I used mastercam in the 90s to machine metal this way. One thing would be more helpful and less complex is to manually mow and pick waypoints as I mow with a permanent start point,say inside a clockwise pattern I did by hand toward a counter clockwise pattern grid entered at each corner and turn. Can't I take this set of way points and create the program that way and run the file off memory each time? Islands are what the cam software used as exclusions.

Hi, awesome video. I tried to use survey to generate a grid and when i accept, it asks me to set the altitude manually for each waypoint on the survey path. I notice that mission planner did not get you to do this. How did you set the entire survey path to 1 altitude? Thanks!
