One of my favorites is where they're looking for a library in the desert and Toph goes, "There it is!!", while pointing at nothing and when the team gives her a look of disappointment, she goes, "that's what it'll sound like when one of you spots it", and she proceeds to turn their direction, smile, and wave her hands in front of her face, reminding them she's blind lol

@@kfactor20 This is the best blind joke in the series. Mostly because I think it tricks the audience too. Everyone hears Toph say "there it is" but I don't think a lot of us realize it was Toph and flying lmao. Its so funny

@@kfactor20 one of my favorites too! Also, the one underground in The Drill as the commenter above yours says. I also like, in, The Runaway, with the wanted posters. I just love that Toph has so many blind jokes. It's what makes her character way more realistic than a lot of other characters with disabilities in media. I also love her talk with Iroh. It's when did the seed for a lot of positive change for me when I was a teen. I had a lot of trouble asking for help, and I felt weak whenever I need it, but Iroh tell me that it's OK to ask for help. Although, I do still hate when people insist on helping me, even when I don't need it, and I'm polite about denying their assistance. People be annoying sometimes.

@@paul-juniorblack6151 I also love that most of the blind jokes aren't at Toph's expense, but her friends. I mean, there are, because we do you do stupid shit, and it is funny, but I do appreciate that they don't make Toph the butt of the ALL the time. That's unrealistic. I'm going to mount of my blind jokes at my friends and family are at their expense. For example, I always make fun of them for not being able to get around their own houses without light, or when they can't see something that most people would think obvious, stupif shit like that. Toph isn't perfect, for example, I wish that they'd had a little more of life skills and things like that shown, but, for 2005, this is the best I got, and I'm still happy when it 17 years later. God I feel old.

I've always preferred Tremorsense. Though I like to imagine that ATLA was a D&D campaign that Bryke played and decided it would make for a great cartoon.

@BGTitanAvatar Very true, Creators of ATLA wanted all Bending to be based on real world Martial Arts being the different schools of Chinese Kung Fu whether it was Water (Tai Chi), Air (Baguazhang) or Fire (Northern Shaolin). Toph's style is a form of the "Southern Praying Mantis" Kung Fu (emphasis on close quarter combat with short tight kicks & punches). All other Earthbenders practice "Hung Gar" Kung Fu (emphasis on a low grounded stance with strong punches & kicks as well as use of weapons) which is also a Southern Chinese Martial Art form which Chinese Folk Hero Wong Fei Hung was a Master of.

I wasn't saying that Sifu Kisu was used for Toph, just in general they used him to demonstrate the moves and then animated what he did.

She's not really one dimensional, you could say she's a static character. She doesn't get much character development through the series, but her character is interesting, not just the concepts.

Nah season 1 was solid and it started getting "juicy" with the first episode of this season with the introduction of Azula or the season 1 finale where Zhao moonbusts and Katara gets good at waterbending.

Lebronze im not saying the season 1 finale was bad, because it was awesome, but season 2 starts off slow until here

I still stand by that this show kicked into gear with either the season 1 finale or the introduction of Azula. Season 2: Ep1 Gave us Azula and revealed the importance and dangers of the AS. Not slow. Ep2. I'll give you this one. Was pretty slow but still decent if you care about romance on this show. Ep3. Azula gets her crew together, we see the firenation progressing further in the war, we see Bumi again. Awesome fight scenes. Not slow. Ep4. Important episode for spirituality. Sets up Tophs debut. We learn more about Katara and Sokka. Badass fight scenes at the end. Not slow. Ep5. The Kyoshi scene alone is enough to carry this episode despite the rest of it being slow. Kyoshi is just that boss. It shows that there are good and bad people on both sides too. Of course this is all my opinion.

Lebronze hey i mean all those episodes are great as they contribute to the show in some way every time, whether its kataang or the image of toph, but compared to what lies before us, i think 1-5 is considered to be weak. Thats just atlas standards though, you have great episodes that will actually be considered weak compared to the rest of the series because its such a great show.

ok so some of it was an assumtpion, since we never actually got to the development stage, but youc an asume i think pretty safely that the MAIN earthebder in this show if it was latr inspired to be the boulder, would have ben aangs airbending teacher. i mean, its liek if they had a firebender walking around with them as a main character who ISNT teaching him firebending? they never disclosed what the concept art that would later become the boulder and changed to toph would actually DO int he show. so i put 2 and 2 together.
