That is how a hobby becomes less skill-based because you do fewer things by yourself, and reserved to wealthy people because involving shit loads of money in technologies in order to be competitive. That is pretty much how every popular mechanical sport has ended up. AVC is just the first stone.

+RC Car Club YEs I would like Spektrum to address this QUESTION as I have the same radio and receivers and would like to have the AVC on and still have my Killer Bee kill switch still work. Why is my 4 channel radio now a 2 channel radio????

KLH1966 I've just put a SR410 in I don't really want AVC in such a competent vehicle Kill switch is Safer than TC or Heading Hold plus it drains your RX batt more ;O)

+RC Car Club I fully understand that and agree safety is NUMBER ONE. But we buy a 4 channel radio for a reason. Spektrum NEEDS to fix this as this will also not allow lights to run also with AVC on. Just saying I/we pay for a 4 channel radio we should have a 4 channel radio with or with out AVC on. SO Spektrum you need to answer this and address this.

Lol, you found the Active Vehicle Crasher button.... :p But seriously, set your priority setting (in the AVC menu) to 0% and start from there. The way the priority function works is it makes you able to really throw the car into corners, because it will have all steering gain right around center, and no steering gain at full stick.

jgrimsta I actually figured it out. It needed to be reset. Not the binding, but the receiver needed recalibration.

I thought you would have figured it out by now :) I really like the AVC because I can now drive my little Tamiya M02L beetle again without constantly trying to correct the steering. It has developed an insane amount slop in every front link after beeing driven for over 20 years, still has every original part too, but the AVC made it drivable again and made some jaws drop too hihi :D

How did you reset your receiver? I’m having the same issue, but can’t find any info on resetting the receiver

The Fail safe is preset to Lower throttle (mid throttle captured at bind) and hold last command for the rest of the channels. Hope that helps!

I think a Y cable would work but you also can try using it the way that it was plugged into the stock reciever.

You take the bind plug out when you are done binding it. If you don't take it out the truck will stay in bind mode.

DX3S is a DSM/DSM2 Transmitter you need a DSMR Transmitter DX2E DX4C DX4S DX4R etc to use AVC ;O)

Our AVC receivers only work with DSM2 or DSMR Radios. The DX2e would work well for a bare bones radio.

Could be that you have the AVC calibrated backward. Make sure you follow the binding and calibration procedure to a "T".

From my experience same rules apply to electric vehicles also.

+SpektrumRC hey there...humm, listen...i have a spektrum 4210 in the halix, and it's set horizontally, i tried, for better cables management, to set it vertically,recalibrated it with a new bind...But it doesn't want to "auto orientation" and so the AVC doesn't work at all..any solutions ? please help...XD

There is a connector on the RX that you can install a bind plug into that will disable AVC while the plug is there. Otherwise if your Radio has a AVC menu you can disable it there by making the percentage 0%. Also, If you do not have an AVC Menu, you can disable it by making zeroing the Aux1 and 2 channels on the Travel menu in your radio. Hope that helps!

Not after the disable is used. But no matter what the setting is, everytime you bind the calibration needs to be done.

ok i may get the losi 8ight buggy for christmas (this one(www.losi.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=LOS01004T1 ) and it has avc and i was wondering if i have to do anything with it to calibrtate and what i have to do out of the box to make it work better becuase i have used an rc car and have a traxxas rustler but havent gotten avc or havent used it before and was wondering if you could make a video of what to do out of the boxx with it and what i have to do thankyou so much!

(stock with losi mtxl) i put power in the aux2 port and my super killer bee plugged into the aux1 port. and the killer super bee switch does work with the avc disabled. and yes i will l be upgrading the transmitter and receiver soon. you will need 2 bind plugs.

no club racing is far out of the stone age... and it does take away from that actual driver skill. its just about all legitimate race tracks/organizations said right when this came out that it was against the rules.

It can be turned off. I don't race, but in the manual it says that race regulations may require AVC to be turned off. It then goes through the process of turning it off.
