www.aveda.com/product/5321/356... Emily, a stylist at New Reflections Salon in Minnesota, demonstrates a setting technique to create thicker-looking hair. This look results in voluminous waves that can be worn to work or out on the town.
Starting with wet hair, apply Aveda Brilliant Damage Control. This pre-styling tool protects your hair from the negative effects of combing, heat styling, and sun damage. Follow that up with Aveda Thickening Tonic, which instantly expands strands from roots to ends. Comb through your hair to ensure even saturation of the products.
Partially dry your hair to make the brushing process easier. Section out your hair for round brushing and secure the pieces with duckbill clips. Working section by section, round brush each piece and use a concentrator nozzle on your dryer, pointing it downward to prevent frizz. Once a section is dry, curl it up, secure it, and move onto the next piece. Once you’ve worked through all the sections, leave them pinned up for five or ten minutes to cool, then release.
To smooth out the look, back-brush the sections that are too curly. Once everything looks the way you want it to, apply Aveda Control Force to set the look.
