Man of Tai Chi is actually really good. Reeves plays the bad guy for once. He runs a fight club for the mega rich. Gets a guy who practices tai chi, normally a peaceful martial art, to fight. Come to term with his demons type plot. Good though

Living in Japan, I don't remember that much marketing for Man of Steel. Also, people over here are not use to hear Superman referred to as the Man of Steel. So, that might have contributed to less sales for that movie.

I don't really see why the Symbiote has to come from space. In Ultimate Spider-Man, The Venom suit is a man-made creation born of an experiment by Richard Parker and Edward Brock, Sr. to develop a protoplasmic cure for cancer. Which is a much better explanation than, "I don't know... it came from space?"

The whole geisha restaurant scene was in SAC 1, so the movie is an odd amalgamation of inspiration from the anime movie / TV series, it may wind up more enjoyable for US audiences than the anime film adaptation was, but neither the anime film adaptation nor this new movie will be able to convey much of what made the original manga so much fun and crazy... But we'll see ... I'm worried though...

25:30 Is it amazing though? It also grossed like twice the amount Superman Returns did and a lot more than Batman Begins... I think it's more relevant that Doctor Strange's the 14th film in the biggest franchise in the world and MoS was the first in it's franchise. What I find more intereating is that Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them outgrossed Doctor Strange by like $150m. Like how did that happen? Marvel is obviously the bigger franchise and Strange is better known than whatever Redmayne's character is called. I didn't see Fantastic Beasts, so I guess if it's mountains better, that'd explain it, but Doctor Strange was good, so I don't think that's the case.

Jack Sparrow is like... the worst character to build a series around. I mean sure he is entertaining, and he can be interesting... but he is too selfish and doesn't want enough. All Jack Sparrow wants to do is sail in the Black Pearl; thus EVERY SINGLE PLOT has to blackmail him with his ship, as such they all feel the same and pretty much never progress his character.

Mason, why don't you watch the original movie with the Japanese? Also watch the Stand Alone Complex series, which many agree to be better than the movie. The new GitS seems to be standard sci-fi cyberpunk with a bit of a GitS paint-job, which will appeal to the mass market but won't be a smart movie. GitS Arise is the latest animated edition to the franchise, and it has issues from what I know, being more action focused and not as smart as the rest of the series. The movie seems to be more like that than actual GitS.
