In regard to Avi's mother's illness. several years ago she had a recurrence of cancer (not sure what type) and was undergoing treatment. At the time, Avi was, of course, on a world tour with Pentatonix, and his sister Esther was also on the tour as their tour manager. Regardless of where they were in the world, whenever there was a break of a few days between shows, the siblings would fly to Los Angeles to spend time with her, and the stress of flying back and forth ended up giving him terrible insomnia. The need to be there for his mother was one of the many reasons he left PTX in 2017. (She has since recovered.) And by the way, his sister Esther Kaplan Koop (who lives with her husband and daughter near Nashville and her brother's home) has recently taken on the mantle as his manager. Good choice, little brother!

Somebody at CBS TV apparently likes Avi. Two of his songs have been played on the Max Thieriot drama series "Fire Country"--this one last season, and "Change on the Rise" in the season 2 finale.

Yes, we have all experienced this feeling, at least to a certain degree. I learned this at the age of 16. The knowledge that there are some things you have no power to change or fix was a great lesson to learn early. However, at the time, it felt like invisible hands pulling me apart. There’s a live version of this, Avi was really poorly and they worked out how he could do the show all in a lower key, it was his Europe tour I think 2022, great reaction Saeed🫶🏼
