Avocet ATK euro. Disappointing 360 pick past 6 trap pins.

I did a video recently on the ERA fortress euro that had the same trap pins to get past. I thought it'd be fun to try picking this ATK 360 also but this time blind. It didn't turn out as tricky as I was expecting though! Looks like this was one 3 star BS euro that slipped through the QC net!

Even though there were some security malfunction, still an awesome pick. I would brick it just looking at it. 🤣🤣🤣

This looks like a love project, that the designer had a lot of time on his/her hands………..They just jumped off the top of a building in disgrace by watching this.

They are ridiculously difficult to reassemble! Best of luck doing it, make sure you have a large store of patience ready when you do 😁👌🏼

Nice picking mate, I struggled for a while with one of those. The awkward part if it was in a door is picking up the cam. You can get 360 roydb then realise the can hasn't moved 🤣

Not sure I picked up the cam here actually 😁 still, it's easily missed when the lock is in a vice and not in a door

Thanks for the compliment, but not much skill needed to defeat this particular one 😁👍🏻Only 2 of the 6 trap pins engaged so it was not much of a lock to begin with!

Really interesting to see this lock in this setting. In a Euro cylinder door with a thumb turn for realistic entry settings, would you recommend this, an Era Fortress, or other(s)?

I like the idea of the trap pins, however unlikely it would be for an intruder to try picking it. I'd probably choose an ABS avocet over this one though. Same trap pins but also uses a magnetic element and generally feels like a better made cylinder

@@Dmaclocksport Hi again Dmac, another question for you if I may - the thumbturn bypass issues I've now seen video after video of just using some piano wire inserted into the lock to turn the cam! It seems like it's a critical flaw in many thumbturn locks. Do you know whether the Avocet ABS or indeed other higher rated locks have a means to defeat this? It seems like such a simple bypass technique that it rather defeats the point of all the trap pins/drill protection/magnet gubbins!
