🧗Bob & Karri are 2 ordinary, 50 somethings that decided to sell everything and say goodbye to traditional living in favor of RV Life. They started making videos for friends and family and posting to KZfaq. After meeting several “KZfaqrs” they were disgusted with what they were clued into. They now make videos to dispel all the nonsense and call out FAKE RV LIFE. They share honest advice and a clear love for the RV lifestyle, all with an underlying message that YOU can do this!

I agree 100% with leaving the spot cleaner than when you arrived. I would also add to slow down when backing into your spot. I see to many people trying to rush while backing up and just end up making it worse.

Tiki torches. I've been guilty once of too many going. Great for bug defense. But left going while walking dog around campground and saw on the way back around my site looked like daylight and trees looked like spotlight was on them. It was a small park. Then thought about fire safety. Haven't left burning since.

Could not agree more about too many outside lights left on at night. Especially those LED front lights. People you are suppose to be camping, not attending an event at a football stadium. Turn off the darn lights or buy a timer light and have them turn off at specific time, say 10 pm? .You are actually lighting up your RV to make easier access if someone wants to steal something. We use motion detector solar lights. If they light up then they would scare people away and if we see them on we know someone/something may be outside.
@grabowskycountry

Please advise: a few years ago we camped near a couple that brought 4 barking dogs, and during the day the dogs where inside the trailer and at night the dogs slept outside barking. we contacted front desk of camp ground and they said they did not want to get involved. I made a comment to the campers with the dogs that we had trouble sleeping because of the barking dogs and their response was us too. Short of calling the sheriff or county police etc, what can one do?????? this seems to be happening more, or we are just unfortunate to be next to these inconsiderate people...Any suggestions????
@liferedesigned
@liferedesigned 3 ай бұрын
Honestly, that would be something the campground would need to address if the campers are being ignorant of their surroundings. Assuming that the campgrounds have "quiet hours" I would have asked to be moved and if hit with that response left and contacted our credit card company for a chargeback. Usually this happens more at State Parks from our experience than private campgrounds. Such a shame that people act like that!

It is also helpful to let neighbors you’ve met/workcampers on their carts know if you are leaving for an extended day etc . .to “keep an eye on things”. Once I took my class c into town to fill up the propane (was much cheaper than at the park) & do some sightseeing as well. Disconnected everything. Came back to my new (& rather expensive) water hose, sewer hoses, sewer hose ladder, cable line GONE. Shameful. Thought I shouldn’t have to pack up all that $&!t up for just 4 hours in the middle of the day!!! Guess I should be happy they didn’t take my fancy grill or grill table . . .

Forgot a few major don'ts: 1) Do not feed the wildlife especially racoons as they will be back expecting more and can be very destructive even opening zippers on tents. Nothing like waking up to an animal going through your cooler inside your tent. (seen it happen) 2) Do not throw your plastic cups and garbage into your campfire including large pieces of cardboard that float up and will land on a tent burning a nice hole in it. 3) One that never bothered me too much but some people get real territorial over their camping lot. So cutting thru people's campsite is a no no.

try not dumping your tanks when the neighbors are eating outside! Most rv parks are so close to the other campers! I normally dump my tanks between lunch and dinner so it does not make smells when people are eating. I know its not allways possible but man those things stink no matter what and no one wants to smell that when they are all outside trying to enjoy dinner!.

Agree with most but think shutting water and gas off is a little paranoid. Maybe if you have a cheap camper or have had issues in the past but I can tell you up here in the north, where we get temps as low as -40f, that water connection is sealed up under many layers of insulation and isn't accessible for 4 months. And same with gas, you cant shut the gas off or your RV will have frozen pipes in no time, not to mention the rest of the RV.
@liferedesigned
@liferedesigned 3 ай бұрын
Understand, but for most of us that can turn both off in under a minute it is well worth it. You haven’t seen fun until you have seen someone’s camper get flooded because a faucet or water pump was left on accidentally.
@jaccole
@jaccole 3 ай бұрын
So true. All campers are “cheap”. Probably the number one thing that can go wrong on your RV is water leaks. Also, at home we always turn off our ice maker water supply when we leave. One of #1 causes of failure and water damage in homes. Also, small appliances plugged in and short circuiting are major causes of fire. Rather be a little paranoid then spend hours cleaning up and calling insurance company. Murphys Law always comes in to effect in these situations. @@liferedesigned
