Thanks for the honest opinion. I'm a native San Diegan and I remember when traffic was so much better and so was the quality of live. San Diego is so overrated !

This is GREAT!!! I have lived here my entire life and I am sick of people relocating here from other states. I’m sick of seeing their out of state plates in traffic jams - I want to have a giant sign that says GO HOME!! You can’t drive in traffic and you are ruining California. It’s more polluted, crowded because of YOU! We don’t reproduce much. I think people relocating here from other states should have to apply and then wait till we decide if you can afford to live here or you will be a drain on our economy. There should be a limit on the number of people allowed to move here. Yes!! Please promote this more and take down the good things about San Diego. To me it’s another day in paradise! It’s my home my whole family is from here and live here.

I agree with all....one that I didn't realize until recently is the air travel aspect. To go just about anywhere back east, you just have to have an extra travel day...red eye overnight. It never seems to be an issue heading home, but flying out of SD, always a stop and sometimes a long layover.😢

Good video! I don't live there, now used, and not sure if I would move back. I lived there for 4 yrs from 1988-1992,then moved for 8 yrs to a small costal town in Northern California. I loved living there, as I moved from the cold Northeast. San Diego was a lot smaller, especially the downtown. They still has a lot of old buildings, hotels ,movie theaters, and restaurants. The were starting to knock down the old and build new buildings. The built the trolley, yet only to TJ ,also the Convention center. I took buses and to get to Uptown,(Hilcrest,North park) no problem. There was also a wonderful indoor/outdoor mall called Horton Plaza. I fell in love with Hillcrest as I was just coming out as Gay. I had a bike and rode to work and to Balboa Park, which I loved. Rents were affordable, so was food, dining out, and entertainment. When I got a car no problems with traffic, yet I didn't have to drive far. I have a good friend who in 1992,bought a 3-bedroom ,2-bath Ranch, in Lemon Grove., with fenced in yard, and 2 car garage. He has moved from there, but rents it, owning a larger home in La Mesa. He also owns and rents 2 studio apartments in University Heights. Thanks for listening. Good luck and take care!

Yes, the traffic can be bad. However, the video examples you included in your presentation are not representative of San Diego at all. These traffic videos are from other cities.

And the traffic is getting crazy also and I’m a granddad so my wife and I 🚗 drive to visit them and it’s so bad and scary 😟 people are not good drivers like back in the days . I believe that you can reduce the amount of time experiencing May Gray & June Gloom by living east of I-5, as that Marine Layer can be stubborn and not burn off on the coast during those months. It's no guarantee, however because (from my experience living in SD) the gloom can blanket the entire city (perhaps most of the county) for days at a time. I still believe that living inland offers your best chance at waking up to sunshine and having it last all day.

Hi Nick - I’m glad you made this video - it took some risk - and I think you did a good job. The gray/gloom issue is at the top of my list as well (esp in 2023 OMG 🤯). I think the massive increase in homelessness and vagrancy could also have been mentioned, but that’s more San Diego city proper I suppose. The taxes and housing costs issues are especially shocking to many out of state folks I would think, whereas most of the noted issues are even worse in the Bay Area except walkability (SF gets the July/ Aug fog to answer for our May Gray June Gloom). I’m planning in sticking around too ✌️

Expensive and overcrowded and I'm a native, I hate it

Well lets see... I live just north of the dumpster fire known as Seattle... May gray, june gloom?.. try oct. Nov. Dec. Jan. Feb. March. April. May. June gloome.. its currently june 18th and its 45° and raining!! Theres zero culture here, no food, nice people, events, places to go, anything.... The highways r to small and cant be expanded, traffic jams for no reason on Saturday and 5 times a day during the week. $100 for 2 burgers and beers that aren't even good , crime and drugs through the roof... Average house price is $600k for a tiny pos in an ok part of town.... We r dieing to get out of here... Its one big small junky town .... So no those cons for san Diego are not that bad

San Diego is filled with high functioning and no functioning Drug Addicts from all economic backgrounds poor to rich, and of all colors. It’s Crazy.
