This showed up in my feed, I've lived here for 41 years. Gas just went up to 6.29 a gallon a full dollar in less than two weeks. If you have an electric car, hey that's great then you should be okay as long as flex alerts don't kick in. I recommend doing your own research and flying out for a visit for a week or two to see for yourself before moving. Be well and have a good Fall! :)

Someone asked in the comments how do people even survive? I was born and raised in SD joined the service and came back after 10 years living all over the world. First off SD is hands down the best weather you can get anywhere you can rely on the weather to be nice when you need it to be nice. Most people need to accept the fact moving to SD you need to be making a certain amount of income to have a quality of life. I grew up in SD working class home owner parents and learned from them how to live and spend smartly and enjoy beautiful SD. I see a lot of folks getting in trouble trying to live a life above their means. If you want to live in SD and enjoy it you need to be on the grind and spend wisely. If not SD will spit you out on flames all the way to Arizona where most people run to when they cant make it in SD. Nothing wrong with AZ but its AZ...Good luck people be realistic when moving to SD make sound financial decisions and you'll be okay.

I loved and beautiful San Diego for many many years. Usually hovering around the coastal areas cause it was more my thing. But I’ve lived in El Cajon for a period of time also. Somehow I ended up moving to Tampa Bay Florida several years ago. It’s been the worst mistake of my life to be quite honest with you! Yes, the weather is great down here, especially during the winter months! And the beaches can be very awesome as well and all that. But I always think about San Diego, and my heart will always be in San Diego. I look forward to possibly returning there someday!

San Diegans paid an average of 36.5 cents per kilowatt-hour - the highest in the Country. source: CA Public Utilities Commission For a million dollar home (average price) you have to make 225k min. and you never even touched on the increasing homelessness problem. - it is a great place that is slowly losing its appeal to younger people who want to start a family and buy a home. Yes I lived in Oceanside, San Marcos, and worked downtown for a while

…enjoying the video. My 2 cents. Prop taxes at 1.25 are low (versus a state like New Jersey), and we don’t reappraise yearly (Prop 13). Gas and electric are combined, we run around $500/month for about 1000kWh/9 therms. Water (which includes sewer) is over $300 bi-monthly. We’re about 10 minutes East of downtown in an older, 2 bed home. The other consideration if you’re at the office all day versus working from home or retired as far as utilities go. We spend more on groceries and eating out than you - you can’t escape Costco for under $100. I’ve been told car tags are higher here than other places.

Does San Diego have short term rental house (2-3 months) for people living in the cold states coming to spend the winter?

Of course. I would recommend looking on both VRBO and Air BnB for short term rental options. Also, when doing a longer stay such as 2-3 months you can negotiate with the seller for a better price so make sure you personally reach out to the Managment company or landlord.

Taxes r hire up here and the roads r trash, the people r crap, the food is crap, the weather for 6 mounths out of the year sucks, trash and spray paint everywhere, no night life, not safe for kids to chill alone, people up here r not creative, original, or stylish....
