I paid only $20,600.00 off the lot for my new Toyota Corolla Hybrid LE with 11 miles on it. Can't imagine paying $60,000 for a new car. I rather put $60,000 down on a second investment home.

Taycan's have depreciation rates that can only be described as "Apocalyptic". You could use $100 bills as kindling for an entire summer of BBQs and still come nowhere near losing as much money as if you bought a Taycan.

I’ve owned Hondas for 20 years I get 300,000 miles with just regular maintenance, nothing ever breaks.

Imagine paying over for a super un-reliable vehicle a Jeep. Money that could have been spent on a 4runner or new Landcruiser that is super reliable and has high resale value.

Test drove an RX 350 yesterday morning. Didn’t like the turbo-4 at all. Lexus dealer here in Dallas is gouging customers. Stopped into Goodson Acura yesterday PM, went home with a new MDX Advance. The Acura’s engine is so much more refined. In addition, the dealer discounted the MDX $4500 from MSRP.

You hit on so many economic principles in your video. Some buyers are not driven by price because they have more resources. Others are driven by price because they have limited resources. The buyers with limited resources that aren’t driven by price need to listen to what you’re saying. Thanks for the great video!

Lexus ruined their cars by ditching their best engine the V6 in favor of an anemic 4 cyclinder turbo engine. A total dick move to appease the climate change crowd.

Almost just bought a genesis GV80. Drives amazing and the interior is insane. Local dealer here in the states is offering it at invoice now plus manufacturer rebates.

I had a G80. You get great bang for your buck with Genesis but it’s still a Hyundai. Reliability issues forced me to trade the car and you’re still sitting at a Hyundai dealership and it’s like Walmart compared to other dealerships that are like upscale stores. The service departments are overwhelmed because if they didn’t inflate the warranties they wouldn’t sell any cars.

I got about $9k off MSRP FOR my SQ5 in November. I did massive markups last January (‘23) for an IS500, the monster Mercedes SUV (cannot think of the model but it looked like a “small” semi truck). Porsche GT3’s were at least $100,000 OVER sticker

These are all beautiful vehicles. I will never buy new again… but people were crazy even buying used. If your going buy something used get a car that you like and all cars will cost to fix them eventually but be smart. This channel is great!

Wondering if any dealers will actually agree to remove the nitrogen in the tires, the paint protection film, etc., (and lower the price) if they're already on the car. They might respond, "This is the way we're selling it, and at this price--take it or leave it."

I want to monitor pricing trends on vehicles that I am interested in. Varying websites have the "good deal or bad deal" meter. Is this meter there for the consumer? Or is it there for the dealership? I am cynical! I want to compare MSRP vs today. Has the price increased or decreased. For example, the Bentley Bentayga has plummeted in price from original purchase.

I bought a 24 Lexus RX 350 (non-hybrid) the sticker price was 59.8K but it’s not the entry level train it’s the premium + which was the correct price. I got it for 60K out the door the dealership knocked off a few thousand so it was like paying no taxes or fees. I was driving a 4 cylinder Toyota before I purchased it so I’m fine with the 4 cylinder. Gas is pretty great.

Regarding opting out of the "extras", the dealerships often dont allow that option. It's part and parcel of their markups.

Yes the Old tried and true RX 350 V6 is the way to go. I drove a new RX350 and that 4 cylinder Turbo had get up and go but merging on a highway it was straining. You really could feel it was under powered.

The issue is magnified by the reality most (not all) of the vehicles on this list will likely never be collectibles. Most may be nice but will be very mass produced when you account for the supply chain coming back now for the same body styles/generation. Negative equity is probably on never before seen levels.

Interesting. Our Toyota dealer was always at MSRP for 2020/2021/2022/2023. It takes about 45 days or less to get what you want or it will be on the lot.

My only qualm with the Genesis GV80 is the rear wiper parked on the glass. Any vehicle in this Class Segment should have it built into the upper spoiler as Cadillac's been doing since 2023. Genesis (& Toyota-Lexus, BMW & Mercedes) need to up their game.

All those people with vehicles values underwater, unable to afford their monthly payments, coupled with banks and lending institutions tightening lending eligibility, and dealer greed and appetite to shaft the customer is still loaming. The US stimulus checks a few years ago triggered people to buy cars they could not afford and now with tax refund season in the US, more stupid financial decisions to come. Interest rates? How many people actually think about that during a purchase? Car buying is often an impulsive, emotional, instant gratification-based process with a bleak future.

You've only overpaid if your resale or trade in value is in the dumps. I paid several thousand under sticker just one year ago for my Mazda. Which was a good deal at the time. I have been getting trade in offers of 30% under what I paid with not that many miles on it. And people are still overpaying relative to the resale value. In my opinion the only way to end this is to have lenders appraise the vehicle before approving a loan. Just like with real estate. If you try to get a home loan on a $500k house and the house only appraises for $400k, you have to cough up the rest of the money out of pocket.

I wish Lexus would drop the origami styling. I would have bought an RX350 but I just couldn’t come to terms with the looks.

You really can buy a great used car and live with it without being robbed by a Car Dealer with all of their schemes that add to their retirement plans.
