All my neighbors have Hyundai over 200,000!!! Still going STRONG !!! My friend Lexus transmission went out 80 K !! My Father and niece had problems with Honda. 😂

I'm sticking to my old vehicles. An 02 Silverado with 370k miles and still running STRONG. An 07 Pontiac Vibe (It's all Toyota Corolla mechanically) with 262k miles. Both are easy to work on and parts are readily available and relatively inexpensive. Lots of used parts available for both as well if I wanted to go that route. With the prices of new vehicles, I can rebuild them both a few times for the price of one new truck.

You get what you pay for, clearly a used Toyota/Honda is far safer and reliable than buying a newer Hyundai Kia junker.

I bought my car in 2017 and my BMW is extremely reliable. It's never left me stranded, and I have never had to replace anything major like a pump. Every car has their issues.

Great information. Thank you. I learned to stay away from any car with CVTs. I had a Nissan Rogue which was an absolute nightmare; three transmissions within a short period of time. I was glad a law firm handling a class action lawsuit against Nissan called me and I actually got every penny I paid Nissan back. At one point I sent Nissan an email telling them had I not paid for the car in full upon purchase, I would have them repossess it because I was always in the shop for repairs. I don't care if the CVTs have improved. I don't want to have another nightmare. I wouldn't consider buying another Nissan car at all.

Predictably, not a single Audi made it to the list.

Brother, we could not be so equally in agreement about these pieces of junk..! They built those cars on pictures not quality. Look closer at these cheap made vehicles. Probably not even worth the money they are charging for them. It's a wonder they let them sell those moving time explosives. Just incredible people even trust those cars.

Had my 2019 Giulia for a few years now. Fantastic car. No faults at all, just lots of happy driving. Just changed it for a slightly newer Stelvio with an Ascari exhaust system. Pick it up in a few days.

IMS is sometimes overblown but what is not and more serious issue is 'Bore Score' and that affected all engines 3.4L and bigger across the 996, 997.1, 986, 987.1 Once the cylinders are scraped by the cylinder coating wearing off by the forged pistons it is rebuild time $15-30K. In other words don't buy a Porsche prior to 2009.

PDK started in the 997.2 2009 as did in the 987.2

There is no showdown. Lexus >>>>>> infiniti in reliability and resale value. I like infiniti's sedan styles more though. Non cvt infinitis are pretty reliable

My 2005 Toyota Camry now has 222,180 miles. And as I sit, the ac is ice cold. My catalytic converter, steering rack and control arms will soon be replaced. But those are wear and tear items. I plan to keep it as long as I can.

How does a BMW 218i convertible stand up to age any answers appreciated

The model and issue I had a problem on is an older 2014 Hyundai Tucson. The engine lost a rod bearing which caused extensive damage. It amazingly didn't damage the main crankshaft journals and only scarred up the journal that the failed rod bearing went out on. The real damage occurred in the head, as it destroyed the cam bearings and camshafts. Unfortunately, this engine did not fall under the lawsuit generated toward Hyundai for defective engines. Stuck with what to do with a 10-year-old vehicle.

My daughters maxima tranny shit the bed at 100K miles. Cost me $6k to replace it.

i'm sticking with Toyota, lexus or Mazda. That's it.

I'll say it depends on how the owner maintains the car currently have an uncle and a cousin who own Acura's and love them while his ex wife and her two siblings all own Toyotas a Corolla a Camry and a Prius respectively. Aunty Ann is going on her 6th Corolla Suzanne drives a Camry XLE V6 and Chris drives a Prius also my late maternal grandmother owned 2 Camrys a 1990 dark red Pearl and a 2005 Sand pearl beige LE my younger brother inherited in 2016 which currently has 35,000 miles on it granted because Camrys are so common they have a lower resale value than something like a Hyundai Azera though not by much but that has a higher resale value because its a rarer car in 19 model years the Azera only sold 201,435 units in the US where as in that same time period Camry sold 7.7 million units in the US an average 403,000 annually thus is worth $4,007 less as a trade in at $5,412 while the Azera is worth 9,419 and that with 13,000 less miles on the Odometer and 7 years newer
