@@rugomi unfortunately we never got that far. The project never made it further than episode 2. What should have happened whas to cut the body to clear the whole bravada chassis insteadof grafting them together. More difficult in some ways and easier in others.

Did u ever finish the car? What happened to the rest of the build
@thousanddollarcarguy Жыл бұрын
It wasn't finished. It was parted out and sold off in pieces. The pieces then went on to pay for an addition I put on my house. I wouldn't build it the same way again. Stitching the frames together was not the best way to go. I should have just fit the car body into a complete frame like a denali.

@@thousanddollarcarguy I'm completing a similar build on an s10 platform. I know the awd system can handle that power. I've read a lot on nv3500s so I'm curious, did you ever come across any compelling info that the transmission can hold that sort of power? It's reportidly factory rated at 315 lb/ft, of which I will be way over that. Curious if you've come across anyone else running serious power through an nv3500.

The project was abandoned. It was parted out and sold off. I would recommend using only 1 frame. Either the trailblazer ss or a Denali/escalade. Shorten the wheelbase and fit it under a g body. Doing so would save so much headache

@thousanddollarcarguy2 жыл бұрын
If this was to be built again id just stick with an auto trans. I would have set the whole monte carlo on top of the bravada frame and just bolted an ls to the stock trans. I would have cut sheet metal away till it sat flush on the frame and then welded in patch panels overtop. Would have been much faster in my mind.

@@joeythekid5042 it would actually make it easier and have more clearance for everything. Best thing to do is get an 02 denali drivetrain. Strongest cheapest ones you can get. Use the transfer case, transmission, and differentials from that.

@thousanddollarcarguy Жыл бұрын
@@richwil5281 1. I didn't like the way the ls was fitting in it. Like there was hardly any room and it started to look like the firewall was gonna have to get cut apart. Then the area where I was building it was getting torn down to make way for a big addition on the house. Knowing that the house and my family come first made me step away from cars entirely for a year or so. When I sold it nobody wanted it the way it was but everyone wanted parts. So it got parted out and then I built my addition. Now another year + later I have a 30x25 slab and a 25x20 carport on top of it temporarily until I can build the actual shop. There's been a few new projects going on. But since almost all of my money goes into the structure side of things I can't afford to do a lot on my own cars. Leon. From Leon'sgarageadventures uses the space a lot for his projects and we've documented a bunch of his builds. Currently I'm back working on my ls turbo festival on the slab and that's progressing nicely.
