At 9 years in 76 i was at my older cousins house on a summer holiday. Through that holiday i went through his record collection. THIS cover stood out. KYTL was the first Sabbath song i heard and its still my favourite song. OTHER WORDLY. Images of Roger Dean SCI FI art run through my brain. Imagine being 9 years old and in a trance. Thank you SABBATH.

Great reaction friend, that was from "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath". 5th Studio album and first one they produced on their own, Debatable, but seen by many as their best,(you'll see the comments). Most people think this or the next album "Sabatoge" was their best ever. I prefer to think of one long ten year project.Through No.6 they were all platinum. No one ever did that before them.

Oh yeah. I've seen them several times but most I don't remember. Substances. I do recall walking around the arena and watching from behind the stage. Geezer was playing while continually benfing back and forth from his waist, making his hair sling forward and back in a constant motion. Ozzy was just as profane on stage in 70 as he might have been last year. 😉 I loved it.

The wall of sound Black Sabbath, no one can re-create the sound of the original line up, Ozzy, Tony, Geezer and Bill. followed them since I was 14, soon to be 64. Saw them live in 1978, Jacksonville Coliseum, Fl USA, backing band was Van Halen. $6 for the ticket. I was serving in the Royal Navy at the time. I now live in Tasmania and saw them in Melbourne and in Sydney on their final tour.

@@ericmoore6769 You are 100% correct. Geezer and Tony did all the song writing until Dio joined the band. Obviously, Dio contributed a tremendous amount of songwriting talent. Iommi himself has said in numerous interviews that the band's songwriting options really opened up when Dio joined.

Released to North America in December 1973, this is a true gem of Sabbath perfection. Less doom and bass than their last two offerings, their 5th LP release was nevertheless typical Sabbath with an element of progressive heavy rock with Who Are You and of course Spiral A. A great album and one that was recorded in a 400 yr old mid-England castle at a time when both Geezer Butler and Tony were suffering from writers block and out of ideas. Until the lead track came to them. And the rest is history.

I saw Sabbath at Ozzfest three times; 2001, 2004, and 2005. They were incredible. They were outdoor shows and people were making pretty good sized bonfires in the lawn throwing in whatever trash, or weed, they had. The music was so loud that each time Bill hit a drum you could physically feel it. I don't smoke but if I said that I left the concert sober I'd be lying. Also, when I went the first time my dad took me and a friend, we were 13...
